Your opinion
In my opinion, no GW2 is not better than GW1.
My main gripes relate to s/tPvP. I would seriously change the way in which ANet approaches balancing. You can’t make sweeping balance changes once every 6 months (or year) and expect to reach anything close to balance. Nor can you include buggy or highly gimmicky maps in competitive rotation. Unfortunately, you only get a small window of time to get things right with a PvP community before they give up and move on. This window has long since closed for GW2.
You do realize you are posting in GW2 forums?
90% of the comments are gonna be explaining how GW2 is a trash game.
I just deleted the text on why I think GW2 is the superior game but my opinion really leans towards there being a GW1 subforum here somewhere so you GW1 vets have somewhere to reminisce while keeping to a GW2 bent.
I’ve only been playing the older game for a few weeks and as soon as I get to 10 in my HoM I won’t be looking into it much further. Though, I’d really like that spider for one of my rangers…
Edit: I just met Jora. My opinion is being slightly revised.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?

GW2 is better for me – more to do, less limitation on exploration, far more skins to choose from (ele armour was hideous and limiting in GW1). Much more sandboxy when it comes down to it, which is what appeals to a greater extent.
Whilst GW1 hasn’t aged well, it was an excellent game for it’s time and I thoroughly enjoyed Nightfall – it took the franchise to an amazing level. And Alliance Battles were the first time I ever found pvp in an mmo actually good fun.
Both are stand out (and very different) games, GW2 just edges it for me though.
I think I’d like to see an end to the zerg content. Or at least a reduction in its use. How to do that, I couldn’t really say, but content like Marionette was a perfect example of the devs getting a piece of content spot on. Same with the gauntlet. Even though I couldn’t defeat Liadru and probably cursed every dev under the Sun trying, the whole idea there was absolutely brilliant.
