Your own legendary weapon
Sounds like a new Demoman Weapon. You should email that to Gabe, or Robin.
Maguuma – [TriM][DERP]
Name: The De-Arr
Type: One-handed sword
Skin: Classic longsword
Effect: A simple bluish glowing effect that stops glowing as soon as a player’s DR kicks in; at that point the sword turns jet black.
Reason: Because that would be about the most useful legendary skin in the game.
Weapons that are legendary generally have history associated with it. Some heroic history of battles and great enemies that fell by those weapons.
IN GW2 the weapons are newly crafted, so they aren’t legendary at all.
What they should’ve done with the legendaries is rework the awesome skins from GW1 into updated versions for GW2 with history attached and the path to getting such a weapon would require questing and perhaps crafting difficult items to open certain doors etc. That would make it actually legendary.
Legendary grind was not what I had in mind and the weapons should have history with it and not be newly made but found.

I would dual-wield those
Name: Core of power
Type: Special weapon for elementalist
Effect: Makes elementalist having no weapon, instead of attuments he/she can switch between icebow, flame axe, earth shield and lightning hammer.
Reason: Because those weapons are waste in utilitys.
something with crazy amounts of blood dripping from it, and you wipe the blood across your face
yeah do it
Name: Storm Bow
Type: Longbow
Effect: Lightning emitting from the bow.
Reason: I miss the gw1 Storm bow sometimes have to log on to gw1 to be like i miss you http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Storm_Bow
Name: Princess(female)/Prince(male) Wand (this skin is too good)
Type: wand (scepter)
Effect: shooting rainbow with a cat in front of it.
While walking: leaving trail of rainbow and star.
When drawing: I am a princess/prince.
While shooting: sfx princess doll crying.
Essence of the Brand
Focus
It creates a glowing, purple crystal “glove” (clawed) around your hand/forearm rather than an actual held weapon. Overwrites the armor piece there, visible while out of combat. Probably has cool particles and may replace abilities with purple, crystalline effects. Maybe a low chance to encase an enemy in a brand crystal on attacks.
^
Combo of Arcing Bow and guardian longbow skin(aka aether and one more bow which name i don’t remember).
You could choose between those.
Not worth to be a legendary tbh! high-class exotic if only :P
ArmCannon
Type:Pistol
Mounts to the arm of the character, so it appears the hand is free.
Effect: Release steam from valves every now and then.
Arm-Blade
Type: Dagger
Mount under the armor like Assassin’s Creed
Effect: Springs out on attacks, and then retracts.
Name: The Kitten (no, it’s not a censored word)
Type: Focus
Skin: Guess
Effect: It meows adorably every time you get a critical hit. It purrs when you are revived. And of course it sits on your shoulder between combat.
Reason: because kittens.

Rytlock has a LEGENDARY weapon, every player with a “legendary” weapon do not have a LEGENDARY weapon.
I agree, legendaries should have been an epic quest to receive with a story behind it, not just some massive rng grind.
The eis:
Dagger
Ice blue in color
hard to explain the look, but it would be ice themed in looks
Effect, snow trails, and turns any npc/player you use it on blue in color.
(edited by eisberg.2379)
Name: Nightfall
Weapon: Greatsword
Skin: Basic form of the Berserker’s Pearl Broadsword
Effect: Blade displays the image of a starry night sky, complete with moon. Image shifts as the character moves, as if the blade is a gateway into space.
Reason: “The wise fear the fall of night” quote from a novel. Plus, just an amazing looking effect if done correctly.
Not sure how this could be done or represented properly in game, but in Exalted the guns are magic weapons which fire bullets made of gold, which are propelled by the prayers of gods living in the tiny shrines carved into the barrel.
Something like that, or even kind of similar, would be awesome.
One handed sword.
Lightsaber.
Looks exactly like the light saber from star wars
makes the sound
RNG chance to get a red, green or blue one.
make this happen.
Name: Bell of power
Weapon: Focus
Skin: A glowing version of the holiday event bell
Effect: Everytime you use it it plays the bell tone from the holiday event
Mesmer/Elementalist/Guardian/Necromancer/Warrior
[TC] Tarnished Coast
We can all agree that Legendaries are a missed opportunity but I see them now as expensive skins and just ignore the name given to them. Maybe in the future they’ll bring out ‘Ancestral’ weapons that actually involve skill and a story to get but time will tell.
Name: Nature’s Purge
Weapon: Axe
Skin: It would look like a moving, living plant like axe with vines that wrap themselves up your arm. Think a more robust Kudzu design. The blade itself is long and thin akin to that of a scythe extending down further than the vines, made of corrupted ‘dragonbrand’ crystal.
Effect: The idea is that at night the corrupted crystal infuses the vines, making them change to a deep purple. The vines wrapped around your arm(s) give off a green aura during the day and a purple aura at night. No footprints but the axe would shed glowing leaves and flowers at a fairly slow rate during the night due to the corruption ‘fighting’ against the natural growth of the living axe. The blade would glow slightly day and night.
Really this kind of idea could be for any weapon but im an axe user so im a little biased! Plus im a Sylvari female so the Frostfang is far too….icy for my character’s looks!
Retired and living in a shack. Relaxing!
Name: The Sonic Buster/ Blaster
Weapon: Short Bow/ Long Bow
Looks/ Skin: http://coolvibe.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Fantasy-Lin-Zhou-Fighting-with-Hero-and-Boss-992x621.jpg
Effect: Shot arrows will turn into animated blueish purple sonic arrows which leave a long sonic trail after being shot and have different sounds when being shot and much faster fly animation.
Brief said, give GW2 REAL EPIC LEGENDARIES, not such childish stuff like that rainbow unicorn garbage
Forums are filled with complains about anet’s own legendary and how their effects are.
I know some are happy with their legendary weapon, but many of the casuals just wouldn’t bother with it. since its kinda expensive and grindy to get one.IF anet suddenly assign you to make their new legendary, what weapon will it be?
how are the effects around it? how will your dream legendary weapon looks like?
ones that will make even a casual player want soo bad that he/she starts to do the optional grind!
let me go first..
……………………………………………
name : the cursed
type : one hand sword
skin : a long ornamented black steeled curved katana
effect : have a combination between a green flame, green lightning and skulled souls whenever it waves. makes armor burnt with green flames and have whirl of green lightning as footsteps.
reason : I love samurai stories that has a cursed blade that killed the maker and cursed every samurai who wield it while sucking souls of the ones that is slayed by it. + green lantern. ^^
hah optional grind really? Legendary weapons will continue to (even in future gear grind updates) have the best stats. They will in the long run save the person alot of grind.
Name: Will of Grenth
Type: Dagger
Skin: Black blade made of energy, like the ghastly weapons but much darker and with stronger effect
Effect : Slashing will render magical claws which will follow the blade. Each hit would make a short scream or roar (optional).Player wielding this weapon would get covered by the dark clouds, which would leave a short trail behind the player. No footsteps effects.
Reason: The main reason for this desing is because the current dagger, Incinerator is more suitable for elementalists than other classes, fire and explosions have nothing to do with stealth and assasination. This dagger would be perfect for thieves and necormancers.
I agree, legendaries should have been an epic quest to receive with a story behind it, not just some massive rng grind.

I really like this idea.
The Real-Deal
shield
with a clown face on it.
the face starts to spin when there are unicorn in the sky.
Name: The Nerfbat
Type: 2H mace
Skin: a large, “nerf orange” baseball bat. When struck with it, players get a dark cloud graphic over their heads, with a thunderstorm graphic, plus the permanent loss of a useful skill or effect.
Sorry, this is a “dev only” weapon.
The Real-Deal
shield

the face starts to spin when there are unicorn in the sky.
Love it!
The Gimli
Axe
Shouts “AND MY AXE” every time you swing it.
Name: Dark judgment!
Type: Staff
Skin: Dark staff with dark red ghosts coming out of it.
Reason: Because rainbows and necromancers don’t match.
The Shadow
Type: Shortbow
Effect: The bow itself wavers, looking like it’s made from solid shadows, existing only faintly. Firing it shoots dark wavering arrows with no weapon trail behind them.
Reason: Thieves are stealthy, kitten
Name: Laser Gun
Type: Pistol
Effect: bullets are red lasers, like the ones in starwars
reason: we need a non-joke pistol
The Soultwister
Type: Staff
Appearance: Looks like an ornate spear with a soul wrapped around the full length of it.
Effects:
Spectral trail on footprints and weapon swings.
Any foe you get the killing blow on has a new death animation in which their soul leaves their body.
When playing as a Necromancer, Death Shroud and Lich Form turn you into a Wraith, rather than the Lich.
Reason: Land spears are awesome and we need a non-rainbow staff.

no. thieves shoot rainbow powered unicorns.
whenever they make a dagger that makes the eles lightning whip literally a wet noodle, im rolling one
i would love to whip a spaghetti at everyone and have them bleed out pasta sauce
Name: Shard of Midnight
Type: Dagger
Appearance: Black dagger that looks like it’s carved from obsidian
Effect: Swirling mists around the player
Reason: The current dagger legendary is incredibly flashy. We need something a bit more stealthy.
Name: The Kitten
Description: A scepter with a mixed black and orange paint job like the Bengal Tigers football team. The orange parts glow with power.
Effect: When swung in combat it growls: “I kitten you!”
Properties: When used, the scepter causes scratches on the skin and armor of the target. The scratches grant a brief period of bleeding.
Name: Ying/Yang
Description: a matching set of daggers (one black one white) signifying the duality and change that happens in in nature.
Effect(s) They glow with a slight aura; each with it’s own color. These daggers make your footprints into the ying/yang symbol while wielding them.
Properties: Upon defeating a creature, thus changing it from alive to dead, make the user’s armor glow with a subtle grey outline.

I like this idea. Though I’d make one dagger named Yin, that’s a white blade with a black hilt, and the other named Yang, a black blade with a white hilt. Perhaps they wouldn’t have any special appearances UNLESS they were weilded together, causing something similar to that.
Name: Midas.
Description: A jewel, gold and silver decorated rifle.
Effect(s): Anything you touch will temporarily dye itself in a golden color, including golden footfalls as well.
Gun gives off a very bright shine.
Shoot gold coins that make a cashier register sound upon a defeat of your opponent.
Each hit will produce a blast of coins with dollar symbols as aftereffect.
Optional: can add a coin sound like in super mario per shot.
Name: The Dionaea
Description: A sylvari looking shield. Two halves of a venus flytrap that fold back like wings when not in use. Although deadly it has a beautiful design.
Effect(s): The shield looks like a part of you when stowed, the trap, opens and closes giving the effect of wings. When in use it opens wide, and then snaps at the opponent on certain attacks. It has particles of pollen that fall off and spawn small venus fly traps as footsteps on the floor.
Name: Maelstrom
Description: on your back it looks like a simple staff made of very dark, gnarled wood with some shimmering silver runes on it running in a lengthwise spiral.
Effects:
When out, the staff acquires effects that vary depending on the wielder:
If wielded by an elementalist:
Fire – the staff bursts into flame trailing smoke
Air – the staff turns into a solid lightning with occasional arc of lightning curving to the ground
Earth – staff turns into craggy rock shaft with spinning pebbles and dust falling off
Water – staff turns into a shard of ice trailing fog and droplets of water
If wielded by a class other than the elementalist:
Necromancer – the staff turns into a shaft of darkness with an occasional flash of green light and shadowy wisps trailing off of it
Guardian – the staff turns into a pillar of bright light with godrays coming off, trailing golden-blue sparks
Mesmer – the staff turns into a purplish spatial distortion, similar in effect to the Anomaly.
For elementalists, these effects change as the elemental attunement changes.

name : Masamune
type : Samurai no tachi: Traditional Samurai katana used by the bushi(warriors) until the Edo Period
skin : Slightly curved Tama-hagane steel with a silver polished blade and a scabbard with Soul Binding Runes to keep it in the Sword. The hilt has the Kanji for Masamune carved into it which glow with a purple shine at all times.
effect : Mix of blue and Purple mist arround the scabbard when not drawn. A soul explosion with the binding Kanji on the Scabbard getting shattered by the soul that is captured in the sword. When hitting you leave a blue mist in the air. You can hear the wailing of Masamunes Soul when you are not hitting anything with it.
It is a Greatsword that changes different animations like a quick draw at the end of the Warrior Charge Skill #5 or the third chain skill on #1 is an upper slice etc.
Well, thats just me – but maybe i just played the samurai class in FFXI too long~
