I got that message in the console today. Apparently it triggers once you hit screenshot 999.

Just thought I’d take a moment to thank everyone behind the game’s visuals for making me press Print Screen 1000 times in game.

Gorgeous game is gorgeous.

1. Get other screenshot programs
2. Install them and use them
3. ???
4. Profit

But seriously, GW2’s built in screenshot quality is horrible, I would stop using it and get something else if I were you.

Indeed, the game is freaking gorgeous! I took about 200 screenshots with it so far! Oh and thanks for the heads up (About the 999 screenshot capacity)

During the beta, there was an option for high resolution screenshots as well. Nice little feature I used continuously. Gone now though.

By the way, I got that message two weeks ago myself.

There is a limit to the folder? Nooo I am way past 600 and those are only the ones I kept.

Relax people, I have over 5000 screenshots already, there’s a simple fix for when you reach the 1000 cap that obviously most of you are not aware of.

On Windows 7 there’s a folder in: C:\Users\<Account>\Documents\Guild Wars 2\Screens

Just rename the “Screens” folder (or move it to another location if you want) and when you make another screenshot in-game it will remake the folder so that you can make more screenshots.

Yea I quickly reached the 999 screenshot limit, I just put the old ones in a new folder now I’ve even past the 2000 screenshot mark.

Got mine the other day…I was like “no way”. Time to go regulate that screenshot folder lol.

Same happened to me awhile ago. Was bummed at first as I missed some good shots then just went in and moved all my SS to a new folder. Fun stuff. Someone mentioned using another program but honestly, I don’t see a difference. Guess my eyes are bad. That being said, I do run fraps now and then for those interesting moments. Like watching underwater botters jumping around to look for enemies -_-

I just created a sub-folder called ‘Saved’ and every so often I go through my screen shots and move ones I want to keep to that folder. (I also rename them so I can find them easily.) Sometimes I also edit them to just the relevant part if there was a particular thing, like a conversation in chat, I was taking the screenshot for.

This is exactly what I did.

This is what I’ve been doing since GW1: Go to my documents -> GW2 -> Screens

Take all the screens and cut+paste on a new folder named Screen2 (or whatever you want to name it).

Profit! You can make another 1000 screenshots!!

Edit: Ok I only read the first few coments, others posted my same solution before hehe.

I only use GW2 native screenshot system for emergencies as images come in very bad quality, Fraps does it in max quality.
But yeah I’ve never taken remotely as many shots in a video game.
