Your top 10 favourite zones?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6zkT2uZAGA – GW2 – A world of wonder
Don’t know about top 10 but my favourite ones are Metrica Province and Caledon Forest, they are just so pretty!
Caledon forest, looking at the scenery and especially Morgans spiral makes me feel like a kid again every time i go there.
Lions arch at the diving board is also awesome and next up, Hidden garden JP, and Goemms Lab. I like hidden garden because when youre jumping up to get the wind thing the wind starts blowing and makes the grass wave, i thought that was really cool.
I wont list 10 since many are quite samey, but I’ll do my top 5;
1- Frostgorge. Great variety, lovely scenery and I can do my entire daily there
2- Metrica. The last zone my Norn fully explored..just a beautiful and rich zone
3- Queensdale. The zone I started in, so extra special in that sense
4 – Southson. Untapped potential and visually stunning. Reminds me of original Kryta
5-Malchor’s Leap. I love Orr, but this is my fav of the 3 by far
and honorary mention to Mount Maelstrom for having a volcano and a cool Meta
I think the starter areas are the best. They’re heavily influenced by the surrounding race and have fantastic scenery. Caledon is gorgeous.
[TTBH] [HATE], Yak’s Bend(NA)
1. Queensdale. Best beginner zone in any game I have seen.
2. Harathi, lots of trees, lots of war
3. Iron Marches. Not sure why, I just loved this zone and was the first higher level zone I fully completed
4. Bloodtide Coast, beautiful beaches and it’s usually empty.
5. Mount Maelstrom, Very cool place.
Honestly I struggled to think of even 5 zones I thoroughly enjoyed, most of them seemed more like an obstacle between myself and my goals.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
1. Bloodtide Coast
2. Metrica Province
3. Kessex Hills
4. Caledon Forest
5. Queensdale
6. Gendarren
7. Sparkfly Fen
8. Mount Maelstorm
9. ..
I am not a fan of snow, ascalon, orr or southsun
Dregehaunt Cliffs- I love the brooding quality the map has and the convoluted terrain.
Fire Heart Rise- It is so unique and the contrast between the beautiful country and the structures are very striking I love the meteors.
Mount Maelstrom- It is very diverse, lots of resources. a volcano, stunning views and a cool meta
Timberline Falls- has a lonely feeling to me and visually it reminds me of Heidi-a show I watched as a kid
Sparkfly Fen- I like the lushness and the Hylek Villages.
My absloute favorites…
1. Timberline Falls
2. Queensdale
3. Mount Maelstrom
4. Kessex Hills
5. Dredgehaunt Cliffs
6. Lonar’s Pass
By far…
Brisban Wildlands – I love the western half of this zone especially.
Southsun Cove – I haven’t seen a game do tropics this well since FFXI.
Mount Maelstrom – Similarly, the best volcano I’ve seen in an MMO since FFXI.
Those are the ones that really stand out for me. If this game had some deserts I could probably fill the rest of the list up with them.
If I only consider the open world I would say:
1. Frostgorge Sound: With all the ship wrecks, the Kodan’s arctitecture is beautiful, the underwater region in the west is just awesome, I love it.
2. Sparkfly Fen: Such a diverese landscape! From cliffs, a beach, labs and whatnot, this area has it all and it just looks amazing.
3. Blazeridge Steppes: The corrupted zones and the normal ones are really well made!
Honorable Mentions go to Mount Maelstrom (Vulcano and Crucible of Eternity areas), Brisban Wilds (everything there) and Malchior’s Leap (those epic ruin structures).
Diessa Plateau at night is beautiful.
1. Frostgorge Sound (both in terms of look and quest, DE’s and stuff, this zone wins above all others for me. The one to look at should any more zones come into the game)
2. Plains of Ashford/Queensdale
3. Blazeridge Steppes
4. Mount Maelstrom
5. Iron Marches
Here’s my top 10. Two of those are cities.
1. Caledon Forest
2. Queensdale
3. The Grove
4. Frostgorge Sound
5. Diessa Plateau
6. Wayfarer Foothills
7. Mount Maelstrom
8. Bloodtide Coast
9. Lornar’s Pass
10. Black Citadel
