Zealot's Needs to be more accessible
My thoughts are you should tell your guild to calm their kittens and wait to see what the release version of raids will be.
Healing on druid got re-balanced to benefit more from heal power and we have no idea how hard the other rooms are or how hard the first boss will be at release.
Clerics may still be the better bet. No point in wasting gold until we know for sure.
Don’t spend money on the recipe. Just make other stat gear and restat it using the mystic forge into zealot’s.
Sprockets are comparatively more expensive, but unlike the ridiculous recipes that we can cut out of the process now, they’re not too bad.
The point of the post was Zealot’s isn’t very accessible and I think it should be. Do you not agree?

I do, but you made it sound as though you were unaware that stat swapping was possible, so I brought it up because I wanted to save you some gold if you end up making it anyway.

Even if you stat swap, you still need to buy the recipe for the exotic insignia, which is 114g.
And you still need 500 sprockets, if you want to craft it.

This is not a new problem. I have already complained about this. With Zealot you can create a build that provides good damage while you heal your allies, the best example of damage + defensive support. But something is wrong…
Basically they want diversity of builds, but they create gear like Zealot, stats that are extremely difficult/tedious to get (especially ascended items).
It is totally ridiculous the difference between Berserker and Zealot acquisition, for example.
Right now, the best thing you can do to get Zealot ascended gear is: craft the cheaper ascended gear, buy or extract 3000 Watchwork Sprocket (4000 or more if you want weapons) to craft exotic Zealot insignias, and ultimately, spend more ectos in the mystic forge to change the stats. This, or pray to the god of rng…
And of course we must not forget the 1000 gems you need to buy the Watchwork Mining Pick.

No, because making a stat type less accessible is idiotic.

You just contradicted yourself there.

Whut.
Anyways, I think having more access to zealot’s would encourage healer-ish roles to evolve further with the upcoming raids.
In one of the blogs referring to the pact tyria masteries (specifically the mentorship one) they mentioned it would grant access to a travelling merchant who would stock items no longer available (and I think it specifically said “recipes”). One can only hope that one of those available is the Zealots stuff.

kek I’m asleep at the wheel disregard my last post.
Zealot is one of the only well balanced asc stat combination, regarding recipe/craft <→ cost/value comparison. Hopefully all the other asc crafted items are part of the economic changes John Smith announced. All other stats are earned way to easily and way to cheap! Anet should raise their prices by at least 200g each part!

If your guild want you to get it then they should pay for it.

if your guild is asking you to do it, ask them to contribute gold and sprockets in exchange (in a group of 10, if each person donated 300 sprockets and 10 gold, you could make the gear), you are after all giving up a set of ascended gear for them, the least they should do is contribute towards the stat switch that they are asking for.

^THIS^
If your guild is so insistent that you get a particular set of stats, then they should be supplying it, or find another player that already has it.
It should be more accessible for sure. It’s an attractive stat combo. More so now that raids and more dedicated comps matter.
My thought on this though is that it will never happen. I would wait until the dust settles on the x-pac though to see how builds shake out after launch. You have a few weeks before the raid comes out after launch, so you will get a better idea.
Another thing to think about is even if they do take this advice, it could literally be months or years before they do something about it.
None of the stat combos should ever have been so expensive or hard to get.
That kind of grind was supposed to be reserved for cosmetic stuff, not the stats.
But hey, ascended wasn’t ever supposed to be more than a totally optional minor stat improvement, so they aren’t above lying through their teeth when it suits them.
There is absolutely no evidence to support that it would.” -AnthonyOrdon
