Why so much ANET?! Can we please get some 5 man content PLZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Zerging has gotten so old, so fast. What happened to “We are going to be adding some permanent and challenging content” ?!

I commented in another thread about this…but to add to the subject of “5 man content” i’m going to have to define “mmo”

“A massively multiplayer online game. A computer game in which a large number of players can simultaneously interact in a persistent world or can potentially play against a large number of players in matchmaking.”

-via http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/MMO

To me content like this that requires tons of players, spread across a whole map, working together, to accomplish a goal is based on the core ideals of an mmo. I think of 5 player content as more a co-op style content, which GW2 does offer, and will offer with the new fractal. I honestly don’t see a problem with the open world events that naturally form into massive amounts of players doing them.

As for the permanent content thing, I do agree it would be cool to see more of it stay, but i do like some of it ending. Just like every year when a holiday rolls around you enjoy it and do stuff for the holiday but once it ends it’s over till the next time. This new content does have some semi permanent stuff. Quoted from the patch notes…

“After the Clockwork Chaos release, the invasions will continue at a less frequent pace.”

You are right about how these map wide events are good for the community but it has very low replayability. Along with the fact that it isnt challenging. The 5 man stuff anet has now is broken and lacks the rewards to beat out the mindless zerging.

Rewards should be based off how hard something is, not how long it took. If fractals were the most rewarding in the game (which they should be considering they are the hardest pve) you would see them packed and people taking the time to learn the game.

The way the game is right now people just dont give 2 kittens because they know they can just run around with a staff guard (or really anything with aoe) and tag mobs with 1000 other people. Where is the fun in that?
