Zhaitan suggestion
I think it’s far too late for Zhaitan. He’s dead in the story, he’s not an open world boss and he’s not part of a dungeon. I think the benefits of revamping the fight do not outweigh the costs. Anet should focus on two things: 1) repeatable content (i.e. dungeons, fractals, open world bosses etc) and 2) new content (i.e. living world and expansions). Anything else is a waste of resources in my opinion.

Yea they messed up Zhaitan fight big time. I don’t think Arena want to devote any resources to change that. Everybody has already pointed out how lame that fight was. Only thing is we hope Mordermoth will be a good fight. I hope it won’t be a how fast can you dps this big statue before the time runs out type of event. We already got Teq for that. Let’s hope it will be challenging in a different way.
I always had an idea for the Zhaitan fight, where you would instead fight him as airships. Using a modified underwater Z axis to simulate fighting in the air, you could actually go toe to toe with him. This would solve the problem of having to fight something far far larger than even Tequatl, but still make it an interesting fight (unlike the current snooze fest that is the Zhaitan battle).

Anet has proven that they can create interesting boss fights within story instances. (See: Living story Season 2)
I feel like a revamp of that fight needs to happen. Abandoning old content for the sake of new content is something every MMO does, and it’s not a healthy practice in the long run.

i think the zhaitan fight needs a revamp especially now that we have F2P players. what happens when they finally complete the story and theyre left with that horrible boss fight some might not want to buy the expansion or the game. not to mention considering how they handled zhaitan im skeptical whether or not we’ll actually fight mordemoth or press 2 to win.
It’s less that the fight against Zhaitan was bad (don’t get me wrong, it isn’t good either…) and more that it is just so… unfinished.
I still say that there was supposed to be another phase to that battle, where the players had to drop down to where Zhaitan had fallen, only to find that he wasn’t dead. The players would then have to finish the fight…
It would definitely have made it much better then the incomplete-feeling version we have now.
Unfortunately, that ship has long since set sail and is far past the horizon. But, who knows… With the inclusion of raids, they could maybe bring that final part of the fight against Zhaitan into the game as one.

It has been suggested for 3 years. The fact that they have nerfed the dungeon and made it solo friendly, both based on player feedback and yet ignoring the feedback of the problem of the big fight, suggests Zhaitan will never get fully updated.
It is perhaps too late now anyway
I guess i was the only one who enjoyed the fight then. It felt like such an epic battle to fight such a huge dragon from an airship with laser cannons.
