Hey guys,

I had recently d/c’ed during a Fractal, and my zoom out range stuck with me. I was wondering why we can’t zoom out this far normally. For me, it would help tons being able to zoom out this far; it would cause my fps to go up because my screen’s processing less textures.

It would indeed be nice..even a FPS view for pictures at least…

Yes Yes I know…Camera system is intentional even though its terrible and has a mind of its own.

Man I would love a greater zoom out option.

Agreed, the zoom range is frustrating and I don’t think it’s calibrated to give equivalent experience on all monitors (or maybe all resolutions).

And the camera “pogo” is both silly and definitely non intentional. Someone needs to get that pole out of the right half plane (or at least know enough to remind me this is a discrete system so you model stability with a z transform not a laplace transform).

if you go anywhere that zooms you out (lupicus, jade maw, dragon events) and log out it keeps your zoom until you next log out.

I once got to lupicus just so I could take some lovely zoomed out pictures of lions arch.

With caution. Argos-soft is reputable. So there isn’t a huge concern with malware or loggers, but there is some debate as to whether or not the zoom unlocker could get you banned.

Most people would use it innocently enough, but it could be used to give an advantage in WvW or sPvP, which are major factors as to why we have the camera extents that we do now. And that can be seen as “giving a player an advantage or helping them play better”, which are the only guidelines we have for what 3rd party tools are safe or not.

Anet hasn’t given us a clear answer on whether or not the unlocker specifically is ok.
