Please bring back party commander, just like how there is a raid leader with ability to kick. I would like the same power available for the 5 man groups.

if I start up a party I would like the power to get rid of the people causing me trouble.

That gets abused: party leader runs dungeon with PUGs, kicks PUGs before final boss, invites guildies in their place for the reward.

same logic can be used for raids. use the pugs to clear the trash before boss kick and invite guildies/friends.

The same logic could be used for raids, but so far, it doesn’t seem to have been. It was definitely used in dungeons when only two votes were required for kicking the other three.

I’m sorry that happened to you.

The fact is that there’s no perfect technological solution to a social problem: some people are jerks. Both voting and “instance owner” mechanics can be abused…and have been in this game. So the question for ANet is: what’s a reasonable balance between protecting the party members, protecting the instance initiator, and making it easy for the vast majority of situations to replace someone who won’t be coming back.

Using a majority vote is a compromise and, like all compromises, it has its downsides. “Instance owner” puts all the power in one person’s hands and “4-person majority” makes it harder for the vast majority of situations, so ANet settled on a 3-person majority.

Again, I’m sorry you got hijacked.
