You can get a mystic coin every day from doing the anomaly.
Returned player, still coming across things I didn’t know about from well over a year ago, what is this about? I can do some event every day and get a mystic coin from it?

Yes. Requires a group of players and the best time is right after reset when it’s up.
Will we ever get mystic coin farming spot ?
I doubt it. ANet seems to think that mystic coins are in a good place right now.
- We get 20 every 28 days, just for logging in.
- We get several/month from dailies.
- 1/day per the event mentioned above
They are only needed for luxury items (legendaries, special shinies), luxury recipes (bulk-use foods).
The price, while rising slowly still, seems to be relatively stable. Someone tried to corner the market recently by buying up nearly all the on-the-TP supply and the price spiked… and then went back to the old equilibrium. The price dropped when people first learned about the event above … and rose again after people learned it was capped at 1 per day.
tl;dr ANet seems to be okay with the price for an item used in luxuries, especially since they supply us each year with a stack of our own for free.
Thanks @Ayrilana and @Illconceived Was Na.
Do we really need a farming spot for coins?
Wouldn’t adding a clover farming spot balance the market a bit more than that of coins?
How many coins get flushed for the sole purpose of clover collecting plus clovers can’t be sold on the trading post so the people farming will be the people farming it for us not to sell. That means your not flooding any market either while reducing the demand of coins and ectos while increasing the demand on other mats because people would craft more. More coins means more crafting and more clovers means more people pushing towards their legionaries and people talking on map chat about clover uses in the farming area further spurring legend crafting.
In the end not only would clovers still have the desired effect on coins but farming clovers makes a lot more sense than farming coins because farming coins basically means your a pickpocket, murderer, and thief.
Ley line anomaly pops up 20 minutes after the hour on even server hours. Only one per day per account.
RIP City of Heroes
I was hoping I could buy mystic coins with globs of ectoplasm actually. they will balance things real quick.
- Sell ecto
- Buy mystic coins
- Profit?
The best way to farm mystic coins is just to make sure you log in every day you can. And make sure to do the Mystic Forge daily whenever it comes up.
(I like it when these topics come up though because it reminds me to sell the ones I have piling up.)

Hardened leather price will go down again once the next living story episode gets released.

How do you figure the price of hardened leather will go down? New episode means most likely new map, means fewer players participating in the farm.

The farm isn’t the only source of leather. There are also more players playing immediately after a map is released. The price trends on gw2tp back up what I’m stating.

Yeah, I really don’t get this whole “direct exchange of X to Y”, rather than “exchange X to gold, then gold to Y” think that people like. Barter economies suck compared to some liquid medium of exchange, because the granularity of prices is so far out of whack.
You can split the money you get from selling ecto into mystic coin sized chunks, but it’s hard to give someone half an ecto back in change, yo.
Doubtful since the official response seems to be along the lines of “let them eat cake”. Every use is considered a luxury item so their prices can be whatever.

There are several guaranteed ways to get clovers already but clovers are also not the only things that require Mystic Coins. Clovers are probably the least expensive in terms of all the things that use them since most of the other stuff produced by the clover recipe can be sold.
cough the anomaly allows you to farm a coin a day. are you unsatisfied with the rate of the farm, or simply unaware it exists?
theres the dailies theres the 100 cm theres also some current events and as well forging mystic clovers you can get a good amount of mystic coins there too.

What non-luxury use is there for more than 20 m-coins per month?

This might have been true for the first episode released in July (I wasnt playing at that time) but not for the last 3 episodes released. The Episode 2 release in september didnt really affect t6 leather prices. The price crash on nov 22nd wasnt caused by alot of players getting hard lather drops, it was caused by the AMA later that night, when they announced their plans for a leather farm for the first time. The last price crash was on jan 27th, nearly 2 weeks before the episode 4 came out, when MOB announced the leather farm for the next update. When S3E4 released, the price of t6 leather actually went up, not down, even though lots of players being online.
