account authentication...ok to remove?

seems like your best bet
Basically if you don’t have account authentication on it means your password is the only thing protecting your account. If anyone guesses/steals that then they’re in.
If you’re confident your password is safe then that shouldn’t be a problem. Or you could change it to a unique password you haven’t ever used for anything before, and keep it unique by not using it for anything else.
But changing your email address might be the best bet in the long-run.

thanks thats probably what im going to end up doing. Like you said it should be no issue as long as its a complicated pw and I dont input it into unofficial gw2 websites. thanks guys!!!
Don’t use your account password anywhere else (guild forums, fansites, etc).
Be careful with suspicious sites or sites with low protection.
And of course, don’t visit gold seller sites, those are full of malware to steal your account.
If you can do all that you should be relatively safe.
