It’s a fantasy world, you may be hard pressed to find any ‘’real life’’ or ’’realistic’’ armor…

You can use the pvp locker to preview skins, or search the web, there are a few good sites that preview all the armours in the game.

Depends on what you are after really, I wanted plate for my Guardian, so most of my armour is Karma vendor skins (had to treck all over the place to collect them lol)

WWW armor is close to that.

Guild wars should be war between orders, because orders are guilds too.

I find the low level armors are typically pretty realistic.

The T1 and T3 cultural seem pretty tame and imo great looking sets. T2 without the pauldrons and legs)

Unfortunately alot of armour sets suffer from ‘stupidly designed and oversized pauldrons’ or ‘dark and edgy spikes like my soul’ (Charr and Orr Karma)

Sure. As an elementalist, if I fail a dodge or too many things are on cd, my skimpy armor is exactly what it is.

Um, care to define “realistic” ?

Poor craftsman blame their tools. Poor players blame their Engineer.

There are a lot of realistic armor options. Most of the starter heavy armor is consistent with what has been used historically. http://i.imgur.com/cdzGI.jpg

Level 25 crafted heavy armour is scale armour, which numerous cultures have used throughout history.

The really low level crafted (if coloured right) looks like mail over leather, again used by numerous cultures.

I find the best way to achieve something approaching a realistic look is to hide your shoulder armour, as they’re usually the worst offenders for looking idiotic.

Also, for weapons, I find the basic sword and greatsword (the white ones) are the most realistic looking skins as they’re not too enormous.

In part it depends on your definition of realistic. Running and jumping while wearing plate, or even scale armor, is pretty unrealistic. (Even chain mail is crazy-heavy in real life, although admittedly also designed for people a lot stronger than I am who would maybe find it easier.)

But if you mean armor that gives you full body coverage with metal and/or leather than warriors have plenty of options.

The karma vendor in WvW. Go to your server’s borderline in WvW, and near the point where you spawn (behind you I think) there is this large building with some vendors inside.
