well; the ‘common’ ones?

every time i see sunrise, twilight or bifrost i physically sigh, it seems i see more of them than some of the ‘cheaper’ MF weapons (foefire/mist weapons in particular), i was in a dungeon party the other day with two twilights…

anyone else sick of seeing them?

Eh, well i’m just not in a hurry to get mine at all even though I have the money. 600g for my dusk and 500g for the colossus just isn’t worth it in my opinion.

Envy plays a big role in this. Not saying you are or are not jealous. But subconsciously you get “tired” of seeing them because you notice them more often knowing that for you (or the average joe, not you in particular) they are hard/impossible to get.

Do you get tired of all the molten weapons? CoF sets? AC weapons? Destroyer weapons? Corrupted weapons?
Doubt you notice them most of the time or if you do doubt you think anything of it because if you wanted one you could get it, therefore your envy isn’t telling you to resent it.

That’s just my theory on it, in the end I stand by my point that Foostivoo > any legendary. He solos dungeons for me.

for ‘ultimate prestige’ they seem way too widespread, to the point where i no longer care that someone has one (i saw my first meteorlogicus today; i was impressed by that – not the scepter itself… its horribly underwhelming) as opposed to when they werent so prevalent (at which point i was like; ‘wow, legendary .’), i was curious as to whether anyone else felt the same

i REALLY want incinerator on my ele yet i dont feel the same

- also i feel the same about CoF armour (not destroyer/corrupted weapons, i like seeing people with those, and am apathetic when i see a molten weapon)

i also hate when people think they know how i think; because then i have to think about how they think id think… and ive confused myself… but im fairly sure i dont think like most people (abstract i think would be the best word to describe it, its like i think about what im thinking about several different ways – im a little bit crazy… and -at the moment- sleep deprived)

i think its the lack of diversity that annoys me; atleast half of the legendaries ive seen (im very attentive and know what each one looks like) are twilight; and the vast majority of the other half are sunrise (i actually dont see bifrost anywhere near as much as these two… but felt i needed three examples)

Take a quick look at the Legendaries and those two are obviously the most aesthetically pleasing.

I see Twilight and Sunrise all the time, and I’m still working towards my Twilight. If I could somehow get Dusk, I’d have it tomorrow.

This post is indirectly an answer to your problem.

The people that are willing to farm the components to build a legendary are the people that have the alpha ‘melee’ mindset, warrior, guardians, thiefs. That’s why you see the greatswords and incinerators everywhere.

Meanwhile the players that play the support ‘ranged’ roles get their game enjoyment from helping others and are not going to take the time to farm a legendary for themselves. That’s why you don’t see Meteorlogicus, The Minstrel, or Howler anywhere.

No it’s not just you.
Although i’m only bored with twilight… it’s great looking but way too many have it. Why is it? Because it is the best looking legendary in my opinion and in many others.
What we need is more legendaries…. Great looking staffs, bows etc.
The swords are finde… the rest… well not that great some of them are ok like the hammer but twilight, sunrise and bolt are really looking great.

If they would add like 2 or 3 versions for every weapon you wouldn’t see one of them too often…

Yeah, i was going for bolt, but really, it doesnt seem worth it the way things are in requiring. if i see a legendary nowadays, i assume its just someone with a fat gold bag. And as someone who wvwvws a lot, im not going to see that gold. So why bother?

Heck, im tempted to start forging graw weapons or gemmed weapons cause you dont see them.

I was pretty bored with the legendaries from the get go. My first 80 was a Sylvari elementalist and I did a bit of considering of the legendaries for him, but ended up feeling that I can do without. The reasons being:

Not all legendaries are created equal. Some clearly had better designers, or just more care put into their design, than others. The legendaries that you are seeing everywhere are the ones more cleverly designed. Meteorlogicus is not equal to Twilight. Some make cool footprints, others… nah. The weapon should be cool enough. Except that it isn’t.

One legendary per weapon type is not nearly enough. If these are the be-all, end-all of weapons, why not a bit more variety? The aforementioned Meteorlogicus would be, based upon the semi-elemental nature of its looks, the best of the legendaries for my elementalist. But scepter for elementalist? H’okay! I never use it. Bifrost doesn’t interest me even slightly for my elementalist. Clearly a mesmer staff. Rainbows don’t suit the look I am going for. Speaking of rainbows… I feel bad for any ranger who prefers shortbows that isn’t a fan of My Little Pony. The needed at least two legendaries of each weapon type that would cater to different types of people with their visuals.

No word on whether more will be added, or when. Seriously, I’d like some word on whether more designs will be added in an update at some time, or will we have to wait for the first expansion? Weapon skins have to be about the easiest additions to implement in the game, so how about some new designs?

Pick your weapon type, then pick from a variety of special skins for that weapon, then pick maybe two or three special properties (particle effects, special glows, the footprints, the making you look metallic) and then name it yourself.

I Would be satisfied with 2 or 3 legendaries per weapon type and I would really like to have a comment when we can expect more legendaries… 2 months ago they said there will be more but not when…. First make them horney and then suffer from it … don’t like that kind of politics….

Being able to build one’s own legendary would definitely be a cool system. I don’t honestly see many people with legendaries while I’m out playing, but I spend most of my time in the PvE zones and I don’t think most players in the lower level zones outside of Orr have them yet. I may have seen one or two of the greatsword legendaries in WvW, but I really only go out there to work on my map. lol

At the moment, I’m not planning on springing to make a legendary since doing so would involve me doing things that I would feel was a major grind no matter how many years I spent in doing them slowly. If I ever amassed enough wealth to buy one, I might consider it, but the one legendary I really want I have never seen anywhere including the trading post, so that route isn’t looking too promising, either. lol

I dont think its jealousy at all. I personally at this point don’t like ANY of the Legendaries. The ranger usable ones are a joke, IMO. Maybe its moreso the kind of people who usually run around thinking they are flaunting them? LOL THOSE kind of people get annoying, because most people such as myself are totally unimpressed and they get kitten when everyone isn’t drooling.

IMO The Greatswords look like those huge weapons you see in the VAST MAJORITY of Asian MMO’s – oversized and kind of out of place. More funny than anything you are impressed by.

The Legendary Shortbow??? Cmon. Who wants that? Big eyeroller there.

So, I disagree, has NOTHING to do with jealousy. If the Legendaries I have seen were all karma weapons, I wouldn’t have spent it on a single one of them – YET. Maybe Anet has some others coming – I sure hope so. Id eventually like the Legendary ‘Achievement’ but Im not getting one of the current ones as filler – if Im going to bust my butt and spend that kind of gold, I want one I really like alot.

I’m not sick of seeing legendaries, per se. I am sick of being in a fight with more than one legendary Greatsword. It’s the animations. You are lucky to catch a glimpse of actual enemies or allies. The fight is largely wall-to-wall GS animations. Either tone them down or add an option to turn them off.

It just saddens me when I see them. I mean it doesnt represent skill or dedication to the game. It doesnt represent some epic quest or thing you did.

All it shows is you have deep pockets or got RNG lucky. I see them and go Meh buy more gems?
I do wish they were a reflection of the prestige they were to hold but they arent. They are just another sellout item without consequence.

I think the title on this thread is not correct / or I don’t agree with this. I mean that I am not bored with legendaries. I love the hard crafting way. What dissapoints me are the skins. I personally, didn’t like them. I wish they add a variety of Legendary weapons to choose. I wanted really a legendary staff but “Bitfrost” doesn’t excite me that much. I have seen better skins on lower weapons.

Just the greatswords, since GS are overrated and get all the attention for some reason. It’s always Twilight too which just gives me a bad impression. They could at least be a Sunbro and go Sunrise instead of being an emo cool kid.

The reason you see a lot of the same ones is because they look the best, i mean have uou seen the scepter the mace or focus there is absolutely nothing legendary looking about them.

I’m tired of seeing all the dawns, twilights, eternitys, CoF armor, molten greatswords, leather trenchcoats, ghastly greatswords, temple heavy helmets, and charrzooka rifles.

I want to see more Howler, bolt, Ebon vanguard weapons, and leather vests.

Sick of legendarys? Im sick of not having a legendary!

They are more epic then any weapon I have seen in any mmorpg or rpg in general. Seeing them reminds me of how much I want one, and continues to drive me towards my juggernaut despite the massive effort.

Well it wouldn’t be this way if devs had actually finished the other legendaries… because as it stands twilight/sunrise are the only truly nice looking legendaries the rest are kitten.

Doubt the others will ever be finished to busy working on new content to fix old content/assets that weren’t even finished to begin with.

Guardians aren’t included in one of the “support” classes? Really…?

No offense, but you just seem a little bitter towards some of the more melee oriented (and popular) classes. People that enjoy helping others are no more likely to play Mesmer, Ranger, Elementalist, Necromancer or Engineer than they are Guardian or Warrior.

No one wants Meteorlogicus, The Minstrel, or Howler because the legendaries themselves are lackluster. You also overlooked that Guardians can equip Meteorlogicus and the Minstrel while Warriors can equip Howler.

Please get over yourself, you’re not holier-than-thou just because your class isn’t as popular as others.

I’d be more jealous of a fractal greatsword or a volcanus than a twilight, I see twilight more than I see those two combined.

I’ve only seen one person with corrupted weapons, it was some guy dual wielding the daggers which I thought looked pretty cool.

Personally I farmed my legendary through tunnel farming and WvW, precurser was a random drop from a temple.
A good 3rd of the items you need you get along the way doing 100% map and explorable stuff (pre drop nerf).
And while you do get sick of seeing the same skins over and over again, after farming mine (Incinerator, don’t even really like the skin) it was purely for my own sence of achievement.
I tend to play my necro more than thief so it was never about showing off.

There are alot of players though I can say would have CC busted to get one, which is stupid but to each thier own.
More skins would be nice, and won’t really bother to get my second dagger until they have alternate legendary skins.

Nope, not bored with legendaries. Half way to my 3rd one.
