So this is a general question.

I used to use a razer ouroboros for gw2/CS/insert_generic_fps

I then got a razer naga epic, which.. well was epic, coupled with a razer deathstalker ultimate (best gift i ever got)

3 months later, the naga has died, ive ordered a replacement usb cable as i think the cable done did a die.

I love razers aesthetics, but the reliability and build quality is really starting to annoy me.

ideally my naga will live once again when my string thing arrives tomorrow… if not, ill be looking for a new mouse…

Any recommendations?

I had the same issue with Razer mice. Since my last one died I switched to Logitech and I’ve been really happy with both the hardware and software.

I’m using the Logitech G400 (I don’t need a lot of buttons) and its lasted me about 2 years with everyday use and my husband getting pretty rough with it right before he rage quits.

Sounds more like a case of bad luck, I’ve had my current naga for 4 years and the one before that for 3 years, no it didn’t die, I just wanted a green one. It was a year old model when I bought it and that’s still alive now, 7-8years later.
Razer products all have a warrenty, so why not return it and get a new one for free?
I know the Logitech G600 is pretty good, but I wont stray from Razer since they’re highly reliable for me.

I’m using a Logitech G700. It has four thumb buttons and 3-ish face buttons, although I don’t use most of them in the game. It can be wired or wireless, but it’s been the most reliable mouse I’ve ever had, lasting at least several years and zillions of mouse clicks, it’s a real trooper.

If the Naga died in 3 months you should still have warranty for it…

Razer mice are nice, but the quality can be really iffy (keyboards really arent any better)… Buttons/wheel usually get wonky long before cables though.

If Naga is your style, there’s really not that many other options now. Pretty much got Logitech and no names. Well perhaps Mad Catz but their shape is wierd.

I wish Steelseries would make another mouse like the WoW Cataclysm. Excellent palm shape and perfect thumb buttons layout without overwhelming you. kittenty finishing though (it wore off). Or Qpad stepping up and making an MMO variant of their mouse (pretty much the same base as the old WoW Cata mouse). Or Func making an MMO variant of the kitten near perfectly shaped MS-3.

So many options, so much lost potential, sigh.

If you want a mouse with a lot of sidebuttons, your best options are probably Logitech G600, Razer Naga, Corsair Scimitar RGB, Corsair Vengeance M95.

Or Func making an MMO variant of the kitten near perfectly shaped MS-3.

They would have to change the entire mouse if they wanted to fit 6-12 sidebuttons on there.

I’ve used a Logitech G400 for basically forever now. At this point you couldn’t pay me to use a Razer. They look pretty but they’re overpriced and they break far too often and easily. Razer is pretty much the Alienware of mice. Overpriced, overhyped and underperforming in comparison to equivalent products.

Corsair M95

Hands down the best gaming mouse I’ve ever owned. Sturdy, great side button layout, easy dpi settings, software is light.

Corsair will be releasing an MMO mouse with 12 side buttons called the Scimitar next month I think, it even lets you slide the grid of buttons forwards and backwards.

Unfortunately it might end up with a bright yellow bit on the side you can’t change.

I have thrown out all of my Razor products, and I am so happy that I did.

Currently I am using a Logitech 502 Proteus Core: http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX51733

And a Corsair K70 Red Switch keyboard: http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX54010

The mouse will depend more on your hand size and ease of access to side buttons, but the keyboard I would recommend to everyone.

I had problems with logtech mice (g 600) but not my razor. Guess it’s just the luck of the draw.

I’ve been using a Roccat Kone since launch (3k hours played). Fits my hand well and still works great, but I don’t like the 30-button type of mouse.

Yeah… Personally I grew out of Logitech mice. They are simply too small. Back in my younger days I wore through like 5 various MX5xx and G5 variants, lol. Nowadays I can only use bigger palm mice. Trying out a mouse in a store is always a good idea.

I bought many Razer products during my gamer life, and i was stupid (2/3 mouses, keyboard, in-ear speaker).

I played a FPS game at high level.

All of them were having some defects :
- problem with mouse cable after one year of use
- sometimes i have to replug the keyboard because it is not recognised by bios at boot (it is working fine with another keyboard),
- if i plug the in-ear speaker to the keyboard i ear crackling because of the light inside the keyboard
- the earphone is mounted upside down, they reversed the left and right… as a result, the microphone is not the right way, so people don’t ear me nice…

I think Razer products are scams, don’t buy them. They make huge margins with poor quality. They just do a lot of advertising during high level gaming events, so we think that theses products are the top of the top, but it is wrong.

Now you have a lot of company with great gaming products, that are cheaper, with a better manufacturing quality. I have a Zowie EC2 Evo since 2 years (it is more a FPS mouse than a MMO mouse), but it is the best mouse i have ever had and i am very happy with it.

After being a long time user of Razer mice, and also having a long history of dealing with their failing and their other issues, I went with a Red Dragon Perdition.

I do not see me using another mouse for a very, very long time to come. I do not even need to worry about picking up a back up in case it fails (like I had to with Razer mice) as it is a very high quality and durable mouse.

I highly recommend it.

I have owned all the popular gaming mouses and I am enjoying my Sentey Revolution Pro the most! The really nice thing is they retail for $90, but Amazon has them on sale for only $30.
