Can we have ascended aqua breather recipes with HOT stats ( ie marauder/ viper)please?
I am still very pro-underwater combat and exploration. (You would think that they’d have to enhance this portion of the game with an underwater elder dragon remaining…)
We need Ascended Aqua Breathers of all stat combos. And we need them available from the Laurel merchants as well as recipes, since I detest crafting. (Heck… we need simple EXOTICS in all stat combos still!)
And we need more skins for them. (A small pen-like unit like something out of a James Bond film, or what the Jedi had in that horrible movie. A clear bubble around the head. Or best of all, an invisible Aqua Breather.)

I could have sworn you could hide the rebreather. I mean even equipping it underwater is technically optional…

It would be great if breather masks were simply skin changes of headgear that occurred automatically when entering and exiting water.

Yep, sounds like the best option for me too. They’ve always been pointless and poorly supported for no reason (e.g. no crafting recipes for earlier tiers of armour, hardly any drops).

none of my toons have an aquabreather atm, just waiting for more stats
hopefully they will make a change.
Removing it completely sounds like a good idea, so underwater combat just uses your head armor. And then the breather would just be a cosmetic “toy”, and if you didn’t have a skin slotted, it would just use a basic breather skin?
And yea, I miss having water combat, see it a lot less often since the pvp map and underwater areas in WvW were removed.

I see no need for an ascended aquabreather, regardless of the stats. The highest level underwater fractal can be managed without a breather and since about half my builds won’t work underwater and/or have wasted runes, I’m not willing to spend coin or mats.
As stated above , I’m waiting for ANet to finally drop the mechanic and just use a skin for the underwater helm.
yea come to think of it remove aqua breather would be the best option.
and for those who made ascended ones, that can be converted to a standard head piece, so they can keep using it or salvage it (and the others would become salvageable?)
I like the way Underwater Combat triggers a weapon/armor change.
While I kinda wish that it was a full change, IE: You swapped all your gear, that way we could have special Underwater Runes, and the like. After all no one swims in Heavy Armor, and the cloth armor would tangle you all up if you tried to swim in them. So having custom skins for Underwater Combat, IE: more Swimsuit looking.
I would settle just to see more Breather Skins, and the Ability to Dye them!

I’m not inclined to make Ascended Breathers — they are a huge expense for a niche-use item:
- You can do T4 aquatic fractal using Exotic (or even masterwork) breathers.
- There’s precious little underwater combat in WvW, for which the extra stats might be useful.
- There’s no PvE situation that calls for Ascended Breathers.
- PvP will never have underwater combat and ANet has stopped including underwater areas in new zones.
I hate not having access to an Exotic aquabreather, and losing my 6th rune slot in PvE (Usually Traveller or Speed)

1) No you can’t put them in the forge.
2) HoT has underwater areas, so while they aren’t exactly promoting underwater combat, it’s not not being included.
3) It’s certainly true that they don’t matter much.
To the OP:
HoT recipies like this are available according to the wiki https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Yassith's_Cloth_Breather but I am not sure I see how to get them. I expected fractal encryptions, but I’m not sure. Maybe you can find it? Maybe an armor book?
While it would be nice, the ascended hot stats would add 2% boon and/or condition duration. For stats like marauders, it’s adding 15 stat points TOTAL.
It could/should be done, but think about just how silly this thread is.
And yes I own ascended nomad spear/ rampager spear gun/rampager breather with setup sigils/infusions/runes and know what my underwater skills do.

I tried, and no you cannot change it via mystic toilet.
not sure why wiki has hot stats ascended aqua breathers…
I also got 20+ recipes from fractal but none of them were hot ones.
the standard ones can also be found on TP.

The Bitterfrost vendor Slooshoo offers Light, Medium and Heavy Ascended Aqua breathers with most of the HoT stats for 6,000 Unbound magic and 500 berries.

No. They did say that, in practice, underwater content as it exists now is “not fun” for players, on the whole, and so they will not be building “large underwater” content. This is, in part, why the lake was drained, since it otherwise had to be either dead space, or content they know the majority of people won’t like very much.
I’m personally hoping that they take us to what is essentially “dry ground content” with an underwater aesthetic, since that’s the part I really like. The 3D nature of the environment is what makes underwater (and hovering or flying) content hard — we just don’t have good controls, input, and displays for that heavily 3D environment at this time.
Yes please remove the aquabreather and convert the items into head armor.
If they make a poll, the majority will vote to remove it.

The proposal is that the aqua breather just becomes a skin, a bit like the glider skin, so the game would use the stats and runes from your helmet instead of the aqua breather underwater.
So you’re not really losing the breather, you still use the skin underwater it’s just not considered a piece of equipment, you’re using your on-land helmet underwater. Which makes it cheaper for everyone to create full armour sets (you now only have to get 6 pieces of armour and 6 runes, not 7).
Getting some “free” ascended helmets on top sounds good to me.
