Coming back to GW2 after having a year off can someone give me a quick rundown on what is new/what has changed in the game and the best place to go to read all up about it?

Ditto, it seems you didn’t play for long when you started (maybe just beta’s or for less than a month after it came out) so what is old is new to you. I suggest simply playing the game as a new player would and you’ll either enjoy yourself or find it isn’t for you. Given a chance I’d like to think you’ll discover the former.
