bags ? We need to carry to much ?
some time ago they were considering to add slots at material storage for such items as petrified wood, blood rubies, tenebrous crystals etc so we might see that implemented on the next update or the one that follows
The sad thing is, every time you do something you need to clean up your inventory. But they spamming more and more. And i have nothing against a merit after an achievement, but why all this crap spam. If they compare personal storage at start and now against all items at start and now, big difference.
You can always sell the items. Or purchase more Bank Slots or characters. Or Material Storage expanders. Create a Guild bank.
Or delete the items, if you feel they have little worth.
Good luck.
inculpatus, did you read all? I do all and have all you said but in the end it’s becoming a pain in the … I just want to play a game, the rest i do enough in real live.
You must be getting different items than I. (And I have no mules, nor any characters with max bag slots.) Perhaps, a -repair of the client is in order?
Good luck.

That would be nice but there is also no need to carry them around with you since you can spend directly from your bank.
inculpatus is that for real what you said ? repair lol
I agree with this strongly. I would love to see more expandable bag slots. Even if I have to pay money for them, I don’t care about that. I’m happy to support I game that I put my time into. I think the game needs a lot of tweaks for how we handle and organize our inventory and banks. If you look up organization guides you’ll find that there are barely any, and the ones that are out there are entry level guides. What about long term. I have 21 character slots 2 characters with 160 bag space, max storage, and max bank tabs. I’m struggling with space and organization. I’m not suggesting a complete overhaul, because that would just make us have to relearn everything. However I do suggest a massive improvement on the system we have. Ascended mats need an unlimited storage capacity. Banks need more tools designed to help players organize and keep things clean, Categories for boosters, food, weapons and armors, runes and sigils, skins, collectables, quest items, and legendary collection items. We have the option to hide a bank tab, but it resets once we close and reopen the bank, kinda of weird. We don’t have the option to combine our bank tabs like we do for the inventory. We don’t have the option to resize it like the inventory either. These are some changes that at this point in the game are long over due. A lot of items in game are designed with get it now at this moment, you need to do this or suffer for space. However a lot of those things are things that players are more likely do do gradually and not in rapid burst, things like collections that span over days and weeks. I think we need a collections bag or something other to put all our collection based items like for legendaries etc.
Carrying everything is a choice. You don’t need to carry anything, you choose to.
That said, GW2 “rewards” way too much crap. Even those who choose not to carry it all at least need to dispose of it. Imo we don’t need 40 junk items for every item that might be wanted.
How much stuff are you carrying around? I only have the default 5 bag slots and 2 of those only have 18 slot bags because I didn’t want to buy 20 slots oiled and invisible ones. And I think I have more than enough space.
My main character, who carries far more stuff than any of my others, currently has:
- 1x Salvage kit
- 1 stack of Food
- 1 stack of Boosters
- 3x Journals from Bloodstone Fen (haven’t decided where to put them yet)
- 1x Class II Rift Stabalizer
- 1x Reforged Shadowstone
- 1x Birthday Booster
- 1x Tonic (Skritt Burglar version)
- 1x Hero’s Band
- 1x Hall of Monuments Portal Stone
- 1 stack of Trading Post Express
- 1 stack of Merchant Express
- 1 stack of Instant Repair Canisters
- 1x Jar of Lost Souls
- 1 stack of Blood Rubies
- 1 stack of Petrified Wood
- 3x extra weapons (longbow, axe and staff)
- 1x Golem Banker
All of which takes up 22 slots, leaving 74 for drops. The only time I run out of space is if I do a long meta-event like Silverwastes or Dragon’s Stand and try to open all the bags at once. But those always have some downtime which allows me to clear some stuff out before getting more. And I can’t sort it all at once anyway because I hit the TP error about selling too quickly.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
holy kitten yes to that
I got so much story related items that I need later on, or other stuff for legendaries for example
I delete and sell spam crap if it is bugging me. If it is less than half a silver to buy something I am selling it to a merchant ASAP. I deleted rotten eggs, toilet paper, etc etc etc. I figure if I am ever going to need this crap it will be easy enough to buy it, and unlike real life, I don’t need toilet paper for anything
Consumable items to loot chests with Etc that started in the SW need to be put in the wallet. There is just too much story-related junk floating around that you might “need” that consumes a ton of inventory space.

Yeah… Lost Bandit Keys, Zephyrite Lockpicks, Pact Crowbars, Chak Acid, Machetes, Exalted Keys, Essence of Nightmare Keys, Greater Nightmare keys, Silverwaste shovels, Blood Rubies, other Keys (Bandit, Tarnished, Dwarven).
(Fine and coarse sand), Milling stones (At least these are sellable).
Add all the unsalable drops that accumulate faster than you can ever use them, or have a use for them: Auric Dust, Bloodstone Dust, Empyreal Fragments, Dragonite Ore, Pieces of Ambrite to refine, Airship Oil
Then add the dozens of different loot bag types and junk to sell drops.
Bank Fillers like Arid and Ascalonian Lumber Cores
Intermediate Items for bank or inventory like Germinated Foxfire, Pile of Leyline Dust to the nth degree.
Then ya should carry your Ley-line infused lodestone…
ANet wanted to tie participation on any of the new maps, going back to Dry Top and the Silverwastes if not before, to what was sold exclusively on those maps. Eventually the straight up unique currency was added to the wallet but we also got items, essentially keys, to open up unique chests there which yielded map unique mats. ANet simply did not want those with lots of gold to simply waltz in, visit vendors and be done with the zone. You want it, you had to play the content.
LWS2 gave us two new zones. HoT gave us four. LWS3 looks like we will now have three. So how about this, if you aren’t planing on playing on particular maps that need particular “keys” or tools, leave them in your bank before going out. Do you pack snow gear for a vacation in the Bahamas just in case you decide to detour to Aspen on the way home? Any reason to take these items into fractals? WvW? PvP?
Since most loot fall into the two blue and a green category, bring salvage kits and periodically salvage and send to collection. Sadly your bags will be full of runes and sigils but a quick visit to any vendor can resolve that or right click sell the ones actually being traded?
Lumber cores are scribe crafting material that hasn’t found a tab yet in collections and they are looking into updating. I’m old. I’m use to the requirement to return to town to sell sell you loot frequently so I don’t see an issue. If the various ways the game already has to manage inventory while out in the field isn’t helping , then maybe, just maybe, you need to return to an outpost or use the waypoint system.
Also one question, is this, the lack of inventory space, because of AB multiloot? If so don’t hold your breath. It’s only not an exploit because they can’t stop that from happening. Side effect of sticking their metas on timers and allowing players to move from map to map if their party gets divided by the megaservers. But it doesn’t mean the devs have to help you unbalance the economy even more than it already is because you want to loot more chests.
RIP City of Heroes

roflmao… man you must not do much in this game… seriously… if you don’t have loot filling up your bags you must be sleeping in there…
No, sis, the OP said he/she used every upgrade the game offered,…maxed bank slots, max bags on every character, mules, maxed material storage, maxed guild banks and still had nowhere to put items from (his/her example), Trick-or-Treat bags. (I’m not sure why one would open ToT bags away from the bank/merchant/etc., anyway, but…)
Since I have less than those features, and I do have storage space, I thought he/she might be receiving different (unintended) items from those (and other) bags.
well it’s not a matter of nowhere to put stuff as much as it is a matter of so many things (when you’re super active in lots of areas of the game) that you need to keep in your bags… then the extra loot, and most of it is garbage, fills up the open slots pretty fast… and so on…
I’m hoping the new “A Crack in the Ice” Living Story adds a Mini-fridge backpack that goes only in the first bag slot and holds 60 items. Then we can at least have an OCD friendly 200 slots.
Yeah inventory always a mess. At least give me an option for “Insta destroy any green rune upon recieve”. I can’t stand them. So many of them when you salvage and then you have to destroy one by one, which is pain in the kitten or go to the merchant which is also pain in the kitten because in next 5 minute you’ll be filled with them again.
One thing I’d love to have for inventory management. A option on your char’s inventory panel that says: send all masterwork sigils/runes/junk to vendor. Hit this option and all signals/runes/junk leaves your inventory and the vendor value for them arrives in your bank.
ANet may give it to you.

would be nice if we could use minis to sell stuff to vendors for us, like in torchlight 2.

Keys, lockpicks etc. I use up pretty much as soon as I get them. Sometimes they’ll sit around for a week or so until I find time to go to the right map and use them up but that’s it. It’s not like you get better loot for keeping them longer, or using more than 1 and harvesting a node will cover the waypoint cost.
The only one I do keep is Silverwaste Shovels, because I don’t like running around using them up (especially because even if I start on my own and don’t tell anyone I’m doing it people start following and then they start expecting me to know what I’m doing and use a commander tag and not stop to harvest nodes or sort my bags out…), so I only use a couple at a time if I have spare keys left over after the Vinewrath.
Fine Sand and Milling Stones go into material storage. If I ever have more than 250 I sell them because I doubt I’ll need more than that, and if I do I can buy them again.
Same with the ascended crafting materials. They go into storage and if I fill that up I either feed it to one of the gadgets or delete it since I know I can get more if I need it.
And loot is pretty straightforward. Sure it has to stay in your inventory at first, but I’ll periodically stop and sort it out (like in the gap between events in a chain):
1) Pick out any items I do want (if any) and put them in my invisible bag
2) Salvage rares (because I want ecto more than the silver right now)
3) Sell everything I can on the TP
4) Salvage everything else
That leaves me with just runes and sigils to sell to a merchant next time I see one. And those rarely fill up more than 20 slots.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
it would also be very help full to us all if the Drevs came up with a KEY RING to put all
the keys on to why it is they not seen that problem by now i do not understand !! other
wise i think the other stuff like boosters and food and so forth can be a work around
deal maybe
“Structured Player vs. Player
The chests at the end of reward tracks now stack.”
Thx this is a start, but there are some good suggestions in this thread: keyring, mini’s to vendor (SWTOR does it also like this), extra space during events, green runes oh i like this one.
Danikat don’t be offended everyone uses your 4 points, but i was pointing out: the more they add, the more we have to spent time on cleaning the inventory instead of playing the game.
“Structured Player vs. Player

Now if only we got additional QoL on reward tracks to auto-reset instead of randomly moving to whatever it feels like after completing it. Got a CoE track that is on tier8 just because of how often I end up finishing a track and xp ends up going into the wrong one automatically before I can reactivate it.
Yeah, Doggie would be nice if we had a selection box to kill the auto reset
