Since we have a lot of new pvp drops is it possible to have a bank npc on PVP area so we can deposit it right there?

I was thinking about this too but I can see why they wont do it. Pver’s will simply go to PVP to use their bank rather than waypoint to a city and pay the costs and then leave the PVP map and be exactly where they were before they left.

This would create 2 negatives:

1 – The very small money sink that it is way pointing to a bank and then back to where they were would be gone. Small sink I know but still one.

2 – People going to PVP and then leaving again all the time simply as a means to bank freely would all effect the servers and stability I should imagine. Just imagine thousands of players if not tens of thousands of players during prime time play entering and exiting this map every few seconds and you get the idea.

You don’t need to pay to get in and out of sPvP areas. Just enter the mists and leave the mists. The bank is at the end of the assuri gate as well.

As to losing a gold-sink, I think players can already just go to WvW, and get the bank and exit and be right where they entered from.

As for HotM, can you do that? Lol, if so, I’ve been using portals all this time for nothing. Regardless, I’m sure thousands of players were already using the ‘go through HotM from anywhere to LA’ trick, anyway.

I can’t see a Bank NPC making much of a difference.

Id like this very much for my pvp character. Thanks to the megaservers I have longer loadscreens due to everywhere having 100 people. So leaving the mists just to go to the bank is a real pain in the kitten .

my PVE position before log out is near a bank..
i could just “leave hotm” and get a bank.. but than why we have now the Selling NPC in pvp area?

Maybe it’s because they don’t want PvE people standing around in PvP by the banks. They want these people to hang out in the cities. Now in the PvP area it’s PvP people or PvEers who are just passing through.

A lot of the times in WvW I have trouble finding the bank. I think it has to actually be built in one of your keeps. If your side is doing bad one week you may have no bank. Exiting also takes you to LA (gendaryn or whatever it’s called at the moment) unless you log out to char select screen.

In heart of the mists there are 2 ways to leave, 1 by using the portal and 2 by the same method as you entered (the PvP mists button at the top of the screen and then choosing enter). If you use the second method it takes you right back to where you were (well it used to and I’m pretty sure it still does).

I am not sure who you are talking to. If me, then you are saying the exact thing I am saying. There is NO fee to go to the mists thus if there was a bank there it would be a free trip and back again to where you were.

You go to the one of the crafting places in your own homeland. From there you can access the bank. It’s always there.

If you want to return to where you came from you can pull up the WvW selection panel from the UI. At bottom right is an exit, like the ones for an instance. Or you can go to character select.

I guess it’s the same as leaving PvP then, I just never found that exit or the bank via the craft stations, probably because I never craft in WvW. This might be the reason Anet never actually put an actual bank in WvW, to in a small way HIDE the bank and it could be the same as the exit, that is sort of hidden as well.

I never have a problem finding the bank in WvW. It is just one waypoint away. And should it ever be contested (I’ve not seen that, but..), there are the crafting station just a short run away.

I’m pretty sure they are clearly marked on the map. =)

anyone who says, ‘’wp is just a gold sink they need it!’’ Don’t please just don’t. There are WAY too many gold sinks as it is and silly things like that are not a legit reason to why somethings aren’t the way they should be.

They will NEVER put a bank in mists for a simple reason … it would be infinitely more convenient than convenience they’re selling via ship passes.

Oh look we can just press B and go to a place with everything near by for no extra costs. They call it wvw and it has access to pretty much everything you could need in a close area. So because of this there is no real reason to why they cant just add these npcs around hotm like wvw has them.

Oh yes and what about those times when you have to wait in a queue to get into those wvw maps? Sure not every server has this issue but it does exist for some. I am 100% sure there are no banks in the new WvW map that anyone can go to anytime.

I never said there shouldn’t be a bank in PvP or that we need to pay these waypoint fees to tavel to bank/sell whatever. Actually I think waypointing anywhere should be totally free. I also think there SHOULD be a bank in PvP.

What I DID say are the likely reasons we don’t currently have a bank there. I would suggest that if Anet ever did put a bank there that it should also be done with waypointing costs totally removed. So people can bank as per usual to curb the issues of people only using the pvp maps to bank/sell.

With the new wardrobe feature I am sure many people are now “collecting” skins and thus that would have created a HUGE new money sink. Those culture armours as well as the orders weapons/armours are not exactly cheap. Thus I think the small money sink that waypoints are should be removed. Bring in new money sinks if you have to.
