looking to play a profession that can jump in a pack of mobs and survive how fast i take them down is not my concern just fast travels speed and able to soak up dmg is what i want

whats my options?

Would be Guardian then. They have higher survival rate in melee than others, since taking them down fast is not your concern.

Otherwise Thief is great for burst damage to take down fast and evade attacks, and Warrior is just a powerhouse that can take down fast with enough survivability to last as long as you can take them down fast.

Guardian for sure. High armor, high healing, low damage output.

Warrior — greatsword/hammer with Fast Hands trait can cycle evasion, AoE stun, and AoE cripple frequently for very good sustainability against large packs.

Guardian — sword/greatsword with 15 points in radiance has access to a lot of blinds, especially if you’re killing stuff (each kill resets the cooldown on an AoE blind).

Ranger — greatsword with two bears and reduced pet swap cooldown trait. The bears get most of the aggro and you can just swap them when they get low; and for anything that attacks you, the greatsword autoattack automatically evades a lot of incoming attacks.

In all seriousness I would go with Warrior, Guardians are fairly strong at this too but Warriors have an aoe leap attack that stuns for 2 seconds on a 10 second cooldown. They’re easily the most fun in this situation and at least among the most effective. They can perma swiftness at level 30 too.

I’d say guardian. You rarely die when you play one.
