Nope. That is just how RNG works. No amount of time spent can GUARANTEE you a drop, you just have to hope you get lucky.

No, you’re not. Between the 3 days its been here I’ve farmed for about 25 hours total. and not gotten it. It is a random chance, like winning the lottery.

Actually I think the chances of winning the lottery… out of all the lotteries on earth… might have a larger probability… >.<

I’ve been farming the SW for the last 2 days for Bandit Crests to finish up buying things I want while the zone is hopping. Getting a beta portal would just be extra. If I tried farming for that exclusively, it would drive me crazy.

Celtic has the right idea. I’ve been farming Dry Top for the amber weapon recipes, abusing the fact that it’s much easier to get a T5 map now than it normally is due to the higher amount of people going there. Though it started out with me going just for the Portal on the first day, I’ve pretty quickly just started looking at this as a way to get the absurd amount of Geodes needed for all the recipes.

I’ve easily done more than 36 hours and still no luck.

One thing for sure I’ve killed so many kitten mobs that I really wish there was more variety of mobs there.

Since you have just as much luck hunting the map for 2 hours as someone who has done it for 10, I think you need to consider doing other things so you don’t burn out. Take a break. Or do other events or dungeons. Come back to it later and try again. There’s still at least 5 more days to hunt.

Since you have just as much luck hunting the map for 2 hours as someone who has done it for 10, I think you need to consider doing other things so you don’t burn out. Take a break. Or do other events or dungeons. Come back to it later and try again. There’s still at least 5 more days to hunt.

Invested too much time now, so will have to carry on regardless.

You have one of those accounts. I, too, have one of those accounts. Means the odds are stacked against us from the off, whilst some little flibbertigibbert can wander in off the streets and claim both a portal, a precursor and some other ludicrously rare item that no one ever got ever. And a permanent hair stylist. Bah, humbug.

Honestly, I’ve been enjoying farming the Silverwastes and becoming relatively rich for it, despite constantly checking my inventory to see if I’ve somehow missed the portal drop. Today, I shall visit Dry Top, and see if there’s anything happening – though, I can see myself back in the Silverwastes by the evening. There’s only been some marginal meanness in map chat (one lane failed at VW for reasons and one or two people had a fruitless whinge about it), and mostly there’s been good old-fashioned co-operation and camaraderie – or as close as you’ll find on a map full of mostly strangers.

If I happen to get a portal drop, that would be rather groovy, but eh, I can wait for the real thing if it comes to it. I have decided! XD

That must be more than 50 hours now, still no luck.

Kind of get that feeling it’s just not going to happen.

But I’ll keep trying anyway.
