So I play quite a bit of PvP and people whisper me insults for various reasons that I am completely oblivious off, I have done nothing wrong I assure you. However these people block me before whispering me. So if someone sees fit to block me and then whisper flame me, the block they have on me should dissipate for the next 24 hours.

Also people who have whispered you should be unable to block you for another 24 hours.

Alternatively you could make it so that people who have blocked you cannot whisper you for 24 hours after they disable the block. That way we could get rid of these haughty imbeciles who want to flame other folk behind an iron curtain safe from backfire.

I don’t know about your suggested fix for this, but the bad-sportmanship whisper/block combo of PvP can be irritating, and has been a problem since release.

I think a better way to tackle it is to just make a person unable to block someone they’ve whispered recently. Like even 5 minutes would be enough (something similar to the mail-suppression timeframe), as even a few minutes allows a person to respond in the case of unwated flaming.

The better alternative is to just not take what they say to heart (trolls will be trolls), block them back, and report for verbal abuse (if applicable).

Why not just block them right when it starts… The idea of “lifting” a block for the sake of allowing/encouraging arguements is just as silly as the people starting them. Just shrug it off, block them and move on.

One might consider it a blessing that one has been blocked after receiving an unwanted whisper. Why? If one responds to unwanted whispers, one places oneself as a party to the verbal sparring, thus invalidating any report and action said report might instigate.

So….just block and report. No need to try to whisper back. Good luck.

I was thinking about this suggestion as well! How ever just because someone blocks you, doesn’t always mean you would want to block them (which is the result of this).

Thought they “fixed” this a while ago so you cant whisper those you have put on blocklist? Or am i mistaking one thing with another here.

They usually whisper you then block you. I get this all the time. Especially since I play DH. I get so many thieves and necros talking crap about how I am getting carried by an easy class.

Then like real Internet tough guys, block me do I can’t respond. What kind of beta kitten kitten is that.

Create a custom chat filter and disable whispers. My PvP chat filter has only map, team, and say enabled, and my experiences have been fairly pleasant. I was even trying to learn warrior yesterday (and doing horribly), but did not encounter any verbal hostilities.

+1 options for whispers would be appreciated. Its nice to send and receive nice fight whispers but, most don’t go that way. If you/or they are blocked the whisper shouldn’t go thru and the time out on the blocked option is a good idea.

What would be the point of talking back? I doubt anything healthy could come from this.
