i been trying to grind some T6 blood and fangs for my legendery, i know southsun cove is one of the best place for those. but what do we get in southsun cove in last a few weeks, bots, waves of bots, in the water; on land on the east side of the map, i report them a lot times, they teleport in the water and on land they usually have a group of 3-4 bots move together, is clearly using 3rd party softwear. yet the same bots is being there for more than 3 week. they didnt get banned at all. that really leave me thinking, is botting are allowed in game, or is the ingame botting report is working, i can understand after report it may take a few days for Arenanet to look into it, but 3 weeks? just on Darkheaven alone have more than 9 bots running at east side of southsun cove right now.
this game have an open economy system, so the bots on each server are not only effect on that individual server, its effect across every server. we would like to know if the bots issue will be addressed or not in next a few days or weeks. its clearly didnt look like there is a on going fight against the bots.

Oh, how about the teleporting under the world harvest bots that I can sit in Malchor’s leap and watch no less than 50 of them pop up at a single tree within a 15 minute window.

the only way to get the bots out the game is ban them fast, i rather have a 28sT6 mats than hundreds of bots in game, the effect is not only on T6 mats, the money they get they can flip other mats or items price as well.

What this guy said. And they aren’t even bothering to go underwater or hide in some areas. I watched and reported a team in Lormars over a span of 10 days, and odds are they are still there.

There is another team by the steam portals event that actually finishes that event.. eventually killing the portals just by area spam that accidently hits them, day in, day out, I also gave up reporting that bunch after a week of seeing them every day at any hour of the day.

I can almost guarantee if you log into Ebonhawk right now, and check the rat cave, you will find a bot team.

They are everywhere. If you doubt how many, just find an ore node in a higher level area and watch it for 15 mins.

They HAVE done a great job. You are probably new because you didn’t see how serious botting was before November. Bots in all the obvious and not so obvious places. Bot trains.

This. The “first generation” of bots aka ranger clone armies with nonsensic names did not even try to cover what they do. That those alone are gone means nothing at all. After a short break, they got replaced by the teleporting bots that usually stick to areas no one ever bothers with, and thus are hard to report.
Apparently, anet still relies heavily on user reports, so the next generation will probably just port away instantly if any player ever gets in their radar range, so we can not even see them. Nonetheless, they will always be there, and the marketing department will always announce that they are extinct forever…

New…let’s see. I’ve got everything ready for 2 legendaries except the precursor. Full world completion on 4 characters. Active in Fractals and all dungeons. Yep. Brand new.

Because they banned a big wave in November does not mean they have done ANYTHING to ease the Bot population. Bots are in every game, yes. However, they haven’t done nearly enough in this game. They don’t even know HOW to catch the under the world teleporters based on a comment I read in some other thread.

It’s quite easy to deal with botters if you have the desire to do so. They don’t. They ban a big wave here and there which solves the issue for a week, maybe two to make it look like something was done. It takes a few hours to craft up a level 80 and they are right back at it.

I’d rather pay the higher prices to REAL players that wouldn’t have to suffer through farming with DR than to buy it cheaper from some scumbag bot. Money for me is no issue in this game. I’d be happy to pay the REAL players.

Funny, 3-4 shortbow ranger teams are all I see in open world. Long after the “big banning”, and I would hardly call running the steam portals or jotun in Lormars Pass in plain view as caring or even bothering to hide their actions. Also, it is not nonsense names, they are high level accts, in guilds. Probably stolen, but who knows.

All I know is the potential income from the 10 days of 24/7 botting that I observed and reported makes losing a 60 dollar acct. pretty trivial operating cost.

Addendum. I just went to Vanjir’s Stead in Lormars (Ft Aspenwood).. and, the exact same team of 3 bots is still there.. the ones I reported over and over.. BEFORE wintersday started. Odds are they have been there nonstop all this time. I had reported them so much I feared I would get in trouble. And.. they are assuredly bots. There is a tree they stick on occasionally, and they jump in place till their AI tells them to dodge.

I know it was prior to Wintersday, because I recall all of a sudden a mystery present appeared in the Bot path, and I was able to “accidently” kill one of the bots several times by “accidently” opening it when one got separated from the others. (They were back in action in about 20 seconds btw) Anyhow, the bot AI wasn’t smart enough to run from golem toys
