Hey, the game will not let me add a thing to letter and traded at auction.

What needs to be used to open this to me?

Game time? From time to buy? Level? Story lines?

The item may be soul bound, if so you can’t trade/send it.
What item are you trying to send exactly?

Attaching items and coins to in-game mail is restricted for new acounts. As you continue to play restriction will be lifted.

So what level or part of story line i must do 2 attaching items ;-)

It unlocks as you play but they’ve never said exactly what is needed (probably because it’s not a set thing but a weighted average of leveling, achievement points, hours played, etc). It unlocks pretty fast for most people. I don’t recall how fast it unlocked for my alt accounts but I think it was between levels 10 and 15 for me.

Level 55? That doesn’t sound right. Unless they’ve changed it since I’ve leveled a new char you should have unlocked it ages ago.

Just making sure, you are a paid account, right? Because if you have a free version you’re not going to unlock the TP and mail.

A good point. Looks like a ticket is in order.

As I recall, there’s like a (I think) one week lockout on this stuff for new (paid) accounts to help combat botting and RMT. The same lockout applies to guild banks.

How long has the account been active? I know if you play a lot you could be L55 in less time than a week.

The lockout on vaults seems to be 3 days. My brand new accounts (7 months back or so) were made co-guild leaders on day one and could access guild vaults after 72 hours.

Players cannot open a guild vault until 72 hours after they have joined, in part to prevent it from being used by gold sellers.

Mail doesn’t seem to have any information on unlocks for non f2p accounts, but I remember mine unlocking pretty fast.

What about a free account that upgrades to Heart of Thorns? Will the time spent playing as a free account be counted toward the 5 days?

It seems, according to the CS Team, it is 7 days from the time the account is registered as paid, whether new or upgraded from Play4Free.
