Its clear that Arenanet doesn’t want all-inclusive skills to affect everyone. But Arenanet, you’re missing one. Mesmer Portal can still warp an entire server’s population. How are we to stop these portal bombs now that we can only attack 5 out of the 50+ people that jump through the portal?

They fixed it by destroying the class mechanic of mesmers so less people will play them. I realize the complaints people had about the los issue with zerker and the like, the way they went about fixing it was all wrong though. With now not being able to summon any illusion if a player blinds you, or is blocking, invuln, or dodging or if they break line of sight they have taken away the entire class mechanic from the mesmer. I realize that illusions and skills should not be able to do dmg if a player is in one of those states, but illusions are not just a mesmers offense but also their defense, therefore because of this many mesmers will now roll to another class hence portal has been fixed! Brilliant job Anet.

I think Zerkers should be ground targeting, this will solve some WvW issues but will increase difficulty of Mesmer game.

Ideas?

I find that nerf quite strange, too. It doesn’t tackle the problem with the portal. Dunno whether the Portal needed a nerf in sPvP, in PvE I suppose that it is only OP in Jumping Puzzles. The problem is 50 people jumping through a portal right behind you, causing a 1fps instant death of an entire group that just so happened to not see the mesmer popping up behind them. Are they too dumb? No, cause a Mesmer can easily teleport and make himself invisible while finding the perfect spot to set up the next portal.
I’m not saying that WvW is the core-mode of the game, and everything should be focused on making it great, but at the moment one class is the hero and main target of every WvW-zerg and is ruining the experience of hundreds of players. Now he’s ruining it on higher cooldown, gz.
As stated before, make this portal party-bound, that solves the WvW-problem without ruining it for PvE and sPvP.
