please allow us to keep the effects of our weapons even after we change the skin!

like foot steps still appear if we wield a legendary weapon with different skin

for example i created a meteorolgicus but i don’t like the skin now so I want to change it to another skin but i want the footprints!

If the effects were bound to the base item and not to the skin, reskinning other weapons with your legendary skins wouldn’t get you the effects. It’s either or, either you have transmuted non-legendaries with legendary skins and effects, or transmuted legendaries with non-legendary skins and legendary effects. For the sake of consistency, I much prefer the current system.

Only fools and heroes charge in without a plan.

I, too, want my Orrian Staff to vomit rainbows whenever I swing it or take a step.

Its not that easy.

The effect is tied to the skin, you take away the skin, you take away the effect. If they could somehow separate the two, you would get what we have today with armor stretching over charr or asura. Imagine Twlight’s effect on a sword like Belinda’s GS. It most likely wouldnt even connect with the actual blade, thus, looking horrible.

The Special effect is basically stylized for that weapon skin, and that weapon skin alone.
