Are you guys planning on changing the way the chat message surpression works? As it stands now it is the biggest hinderence I have ever encountered when trying to find a group. Don’t give me this garbage about it’s there to hinder Gold farmer spamming. Cause it hinders game play more than it does anything else.

People need to learn how to use the block feature, there is no need for such a drastic approach as chat surpression. Something really needs to be done about this. I really feel sorry for the poor players who only get on for an hour or 2 at a time. This has really got to drive them nuts.

Anyways all in all I love the game, Just wish you wouldnt penalize people just for being LFG.

I do agree that that message suppression is annoying. Though for the time being, if this is not fixed, go around it like the rest of us do, by a) changing one word (you can write “LFG” “LF party” “looking for group” “looking for party” “need a party” etc)
b) by doing the way gold sellers do – adding a bunch of letters at the end of your message “LFG AC exp addd” “LFD AC exp qeqwrw” :P

I’m starting to get the impression that Anet is trying to employ the “TSA” approach to combating gold farmers.

It doesn’t work there and its NOT working here. With no LFG feature, which completely blows my mind how its not a launch feature in every MMO at this point (did the devs learn anything from the woes of SWTOR?), you can’t also have people suppressed after, what?, 5 messages? while trying to form their groups in chat. It’s absolutely absurd.

Additionally, and on a similar note, suppressing the mail, in the same fashion, when that’s the only form of trading with someone, is another head scratching move, that makes me wonder if Anet really knows what it’s doing.

Nothing you have done to combat gold farmers/spamming has done anything other than anger your loyal fanbase. The farmers are still there doing their thing.

Please try something else.

Thanks for the info Mirta, yes that works every now and then, but mostly doesn’t. But people shouldnt have to jump through all kinds of hoops just to find a group.

I do agree with you on this. They should fix the message suppression thing or make a proper “find a group” channel for dungeon finding.

I’ve tried that several times and still get chat suppressed … usually can do a few extra LFG that way, but still not fool proof.

Your message was suppressed due to excessive messaging.

But I hardly said a thing, and when I say hardly, I mean my last message was over 30mins ago alerting my team of a camp that had flipped.
