I think Anet faild with the Account Jump Start calculations. I guess it wasn’t planned to sell it cheaper just because the black lion keys are cheaper today?

Wow. That’s a lot of Gems.
What’s the issue? They are selling it cheaper because it used to be 2,000 gems. The discount doesn’t need to be proportionate to the discount of the keys.
@Ayrilana:
Account Jump Start regular price = 3.620 gem
It got a 45% off discount on first day annyversary sale = 2.000 gem
If you bought it ~1.5h ago you would have paid 2.000 gem, it only got cheaper because of black lion keys anniversary sale today. So right now = 1.875 Gem.
That’s just a strange behavior^^ What about all the people that bought it on 1st day of anniversary sale instead on 7th day?
The issue is that it’s either an error related to whatever calculates the key discount or an oversight on Anet’s part.
Yeah, I’m a bit annoyed that I paid the full price for that last week. But oh well.
Contact support. They’re refunding the difference (125 gems) according to someone on reddit.
Bought it yesterday, just great.
An auto refoud for 125 gem would be nice.
That’s confusing. I mean it makes sense to some degree because keys are on sale, but what about people who just bought that package before it dropped?
While you can certainly argue that they chose to purchase it, and were perfectly fine with the price they paid at the time. But that’s largely a trust thing, that normally once something is on sale it isn’t going to drop further during that sale period.
Steam does this to people all time, things coming up 25% off early in the sale then 50% off later in the week. It leaves you unsure whether to jump on the thing you want, or wait for the cheaper price, but what if you miss the deal altogether?
Sales should never leave your customers confused or soured about a purchase, and this can certainly do that.
And it can be easily avoided by putting 5 minutes of effort into considering questions like “Is another item I’m putting on sale later in the week going to alter the prices on any bundles?”
Simply either 1) ordering the items on sale better, or 2) establishing the bundles well before the sale so people know that’s the base price
We can all be pretty sure these bundles are designed to be a discount bundle, something we’ll probably never see sold at its “msrp” pricetag, that pricetag is, I think, called anchoring? (Like a burger shop putting a $20 burger on the menu so that the $15 burger doesn’t look so bad)
Without that lead time it now feels like it’s been discounted a second time after a lot of people already bought it thinking it had been discounted for the sale.
Ask for a refund, most of the people won’t, that’s why they’re doing this.
Oh shoot, bought the package on the 22nd and missed out on trying for the 125 refund.
Considering now the bag slot expanders are now on sale for half price (200 gems), does anybody know if this has also been updates in the Account Jump Start price?
