i stopped playing after the Escape from LA patch (i think) and wanted to get back and see who is gw2 doing.
-did Anet fixed the condition problem ? when other players with lower condi damage messed up the dps from dedicated condi damage characters.
-is the pet AI still bad ?
-is warrior still the king in pve and thief, mesmer op in pvp ?
- anything i should know before reinstalling gw2 ?

- if you mean the condition cap no it’s still capped.
- More responsive but still dumb as a sack of rocks
- What do you mean by king? Highest DPS? Then no. Lowest skill floor? Then yeah it’s still one of the easier classes. Not sure about PvP. Check the PvP forums for more info.

-I dont know , dont play ranger
-Thief and mesmer is BY FAR NOT op anymore , Ranger is kinda op in Pvp now. Warrior not pve king any more

If the issues you ask here were the reason you left, don’t bother coming back.
Game is stale since april and all the changes are either cosmetic or harmful for players.
More and more people are leaving. Especially veterans. New players are… well… new and positive but after they complete their first 80 and see there’s nothing to look for after this, they’ll join The Train of Disappointment.

If you wish to use any build you desire, forget about group events in open world PvE, they’re all tailored for Direct Dmg DPS builds, any other will never reach the optimal DPS to contribute. Unless you play solo.

Got a birthday gift on another character the other day. Bought a character slot for the 8th profession to level to 80 today. What am I doing wrong? Not playing 365/24/7 for 2 years for 50 dollars, probably.
