Why is the crafting subsection archived when it is a relative subsection to the current game content? I went to reply to a thread I was participating in to find I could not reply because it is archived. Not to mention about a dozen other current content relevant subsections also archived.

iirc it was because there was too much loading time when ANet staff switched between forums. I might be wrong as that explanation could have fried my brain so that I misremembered it, but I think I’m right.

Going from a post back to the index for this subforum, 20 seconds each time. When you’re trying to read dozens if not hundreds of posts in a day, that’s a long, long time.
Edit: After clicking “submit” for this post, a 5 second wait.
Edit: After clicking “edit” for this post, a 12 second wait.
Edit: Going to the main “Forum” in the breadcrumbs above, instant. Then getting onto the index page for this sub-forum, 20 seconds again.
Edit: Click the edit icon and the window opens instantly. But edit, and then click “edit” and it took 19 seconds to post.

Yah, but the time it took to switch topics was part of the discussion (and a factor in their decision).

ok so archived great but not all the threads in those sections should be archived as they were relevent and active discussions. Why not simply move the recent and active threads to the new correct subforum for them then too? I somehow doubt these sections were the cause of the problem since today the forum banner is the forums are real slow right now we are looking into it. And in the meantime I have a reply i needed to make to a thread that I can’t because the thread is in one of those sections.
