Nerfed.
It was there Monday , and gone after the big patch. I knew something like this would happen. It was too good, one rare or more per day per character in this chest.
Ah, had not checked yet. Too bad, was a fun run avoiding the champ. Can’t see a reason for people to kill the champ on a regular basis though.
The big chest is still there – open it, kill Captain Rotbeard and you get the daily chest with the guaranteed rare for that boss + the contents of the chest.
The reward chest IS still there after killing Rotbeard. However, it no longer has a guaranteed rare item…at least it didnt for me when I opened it last night. Looks like Rotbeard has been demoted from “World Boss” status…
[edit] I also did not receive the new daily pop-up chest on the right side of my screen after killing Rotbeard or opening the chest afterward, hence the reason I believe he no longer counts as a world boss.
They sure are sucking the fun out of this game..

The OP talk about the small chest ( left wall ) found beside the big one in the middle. Fighting the champ pirate was not required ….. that chest is gone.
