Q:

Hello, this is some players fourth year of playing this game and some are at a halt from getting higher in achievement points due to working the daily and no longer getting 10 achievement points since there is a cap at 15000 its our fourth year of playing the game and was wondering why put a cap on that, is there a need to log in now during the time that there is no events going on or nothing for us to gain by doing a daily, is there any reason in for putting a cap on the daily for the achievement points and if its to help the new players catch up to the older players why would that be something you would want to happen or even do, the 2 gold you gain from doing the daily is a nice addition to the daily but should not have a cap of any sort due to you can only gain 10 ap a day, the achievement points show how old and how much you have accomplished in the game but still doesn’t mean you need to put a cap on the daily log in if its because you want new players to catch up the high ap lets them look at the older players for info on what to do or even how to do some things but most of all lets them see the items/titles we all have from getting the ap from accomplishing the achievements and some are saying there nothing else for them to look forward to other then another story or set of daily event achievements or new expansion for more achievements to get them the higher ap they want

So please take the 15,000 achievement point cap off the daily from working the daily

I say daily and monthly achievement points should be deleted entirely. Dailies and monthlies are not achievements

The cap needs to stay – it was in part requested by the community in the first place;

- allows newer members to catch up to veterans
- players didn’t want to feel like they had to login daily to stay on top of ap and not be punished for unable to login for one day due to any number of mitigating reasons.

The 2g reward mitigates any need for removing the cap since it gives an alternative reason to do them

  • Newer members will never catch up to Veteran AP hunters due to retired achievements.
  • Yes, and Anet catered to that mindset with achievement points, when staying at the top of the charts ought to require staying on ones’ toes. Meanwhile, they gate basic HoT progression behind mini-games and a tiny post Mastery reward in HoT behind raids, which is aimed at a hardcore demographic. On one hand, they listen to people who “don’t wanna hafta,” on the other hand, they don’t.
  • And whether the two gold reward “mitigates any need for removing the cap” is very much your opinion, and it’s one I don’t share. The fact is, discouraging people from logging in by removing things to do is never a good idea.
