all rare drops have decreased in the last patch, including lodestones, weapons, and armor. i think it’s hard enough making gold off farming events already. now that things like precursers cost 400 gold each. it’s impossible obtaining one without luck or any other exotic off the market. how do you guys feel about this?

I did 2 paths in HOTW yesterday, and I wasn’t wearing any sort of MF gear. Only a 26% buff from food. I got like 6, 7 rares. Then after I came out, Jormag was near dying. I swam over, tagged him, and in the chest was another 2 more rares.

I haven’t noticed this, but then again, I haven’t been focusing on it.

If the rare drop percentage has decreased overall, we’d probably start feeling it in the TP. Have you noticed rares increasing in price on the TP?

Just you so far i managed to get 5 rare items in 3hrs

you all got lucky, if you haven’t noticed the price of ectos got up by 8 silver in a week + all rares increased in price by atleast 5 silver

Dragons don’t like me because I don’t get rares from them anymore. A lot of blues and greens but no rares. I just have to pound their faces a little harder next time.

I refer you to this, about the increase in prices for certain things. Also if anything, rares are dropping more often now, as i’ve notice a large spike in rare drops in the past few days.

unid dyes count as rare drops, so compared to the last few days where they fixed the bug in unid dye drop rates, comparatively it would make more sense that you’re seeing more yellows.

Only thing I’ve noticed is less ecto’s from salvaging rares. A bit less, but noticable.

Purely anecdotal though.

On the contrary, I’ve been seeing more yellows myself. But that’s just me being lucky

I wear 146% magicfind and I used to get 10-13 rares in an hour farming in CS. I barely get 2 these days in the same amount of time.

I noticed a Harsh drop in Rares found and Greens too, especially after about 30 minutes (diminishing Returns code tightened up?), right after the patch that also boosted the dye drop rate up so high.

I had hoped the dye fix would also restore the rare rate. It did not.

I think any drop in rare prices over the last few days may be the flood from the glitched event that is spawning non-stop lvl 80 swarms. They are saying there will be a maintenance in a few minutes, and I suspect that party is probably over.

I did about 8 hours total of that and got about 1/3 the total rares I would have expected pre-Halloween.

when they “fixed” dye drop rates, they definitely went “overboard”

idk what was the change that made dyes drop so much in teh first place. i would guess they did a + vs an intended -.

anyways pretty obvious that the drop rate of a wide range of things has gone crazy. probably worse than the DR thing, which i seem to be on perma DR but only in cursed shore on a toon i’ve hardly been to cursed shore at all on.

most mmorpg companies start with this they nerf alot then they put some items in cash shop to up the rate again

i talk about drop rate exp rate mony drop and so on
and some companies like to put some items that your gear ore weapen wont break when you upgrade it

so yea a mmorpg is sooner ore later for rich pll
ad least gw2 is not weapen ore gear based atm in pvp every1 is the same

but a weapen / gear based mmorpg is mostly for rich pll that spend easy 1000 of dollars to get what they want

i see that alot in my 8 years of mmorpg that i play most companies focus alot on buy is win

players want that as long they can kill orthers ^^

Something deffently changed in drop rates, some good, some bad. Atleast butter is not dropping as much as it did. But I did notice a Huge difference in Rares droping. I remember before, just running around in Cursed Shore, I’d get a rare or two just from some risen wandering, Now the only things I been seeing far more are blues dropping, and WAY TO MANY PROCUOS SKULLS

And why I am on the subject, Why in the heck huge boss battles Like Grenth, Lyssa, Etc. When you down them and get the chest. 90% of the time the chest only holds blue weapons mostly, a blue gem and MAYBE a green weapon. The battle was not easy, and that is whats left of a reward..A couple blue weapons, maybe a green and a blue gem?

People will say; ‘Well you get the Karma dealers. " Which is great, don’t get me wrong, but other players like I already have full Karma Exotic Armor. I feel these chest should have Rares and maybe an Exotic in them a lot more often. Not crappy Blues and greens, because just downing these bosses is not an easy task, and it takes time and group cordination to get them down. Right now the reward is not worth it, when it’s done.

I noticed the opposite – drop of rare weapons/armor in CS/ML/FS significantly increased.

All of these things, including ecto salvage rate going down, etc, are ANet trying to keep the economy from crashing due to incredible amounts of items flooding into it from gold sellers and their bots. Basically, the more they farm, the harder it is for us to obtain things.

I noticed an exotics drop rate sharp decrease to zero or nearly (I got many with MF gear in Orr) but since last 2 weeks no exotic drop anymore.

The rares drops remain more or less the same.

I think the RNG hates you today, that’s all. I got 5 rares today in about 3.5 hours play with little to no magic find. My gripe is that every level 74+ rare weapon I’ve ever gotten is a Traveler’s … of Air. Is there nothing else in the drop tables, or does the RNG hate me, too? Not that it is a big deal, though, since the primary use for rares is a) salvage for Ectoes; or grist for the MF.

I was wearing the best MF i can get (around 125-150%) and I got 4 rares within 1 hour farming in cs. ofc i salvaged them all and got like 2 ectos only. tis ok i think.
