did the day/night cycle change? is it universal or local?
Map time unfortunately is not universal, and never was. The only reason why they wouldn’t want to sync up the in game time between maps is probably because they were afraid people would complain that they can’t play during daytime whenever they want. That’s the only reason I could think of.
Some events also appear only during night time, but there’s not a lot of them.
^ well that’s a silly reason. i’m not asking to sync real world time with map time, just to have consistency between maps. if it’s night in lion’s arch, then it should be night on the gendarran fields, and for that matter, all of tyria. because of that, i’m unable to play on night time maps.
and my other question remains unanswered. did they tweak day and night times to make days longer than nights? :/
I have never seen night time in this game.
Agree ASB. I play most at night and would hate to see GW2 in night time most of the time. I like the cycles, but I do wish they sync’d up better between zones.
You have ever seen night in GW2 because they are so bright. You can tell night from day only by looking directly into the sky. Shame there are no additional shadows or any more visible effects during nights.

nah, i’ve seen night in this game, and it’s really pretty. that’s why it annoys me that it feels like it rarely ever happens nowadays.
had to stay an hour and a half in lion’s arch today to see it at night.
Yeah, I see day/night cycles all the time. I’ve never bothered to time it, but I’d guess a full game “day” is roughly an hour of real time.
The difference between night/day isn’t crazy, but it’s definitely noticable. If you’re not seeing it, you might want to check that your gamma settings or monitor’s color calibration aren’t all out of whack. This is really a beautiful game when you’ve got everything calibrated properly.

i doubt my monitor or settings are at fault here, seeing as when it is actually night, it’s easily noticeable. but like i said on a previous post, i stayed in lion’s arch for an hour and a half before day turned to night.
