players really can’t make informed ascended gear decisions because all of the ascended gear is not available for review. with the 100 cap on laurels it is very possible that players are going to make poor gear choices that will require roughly 30 hours and 30 day wait period to replace each piece. hopefully the cap is raised (next update) or an exchange feature will be made available soonish.

Given ANet’s past history, I think it’s safe to say that going over 100 Laurels is a bug, and will be considered an exploit. Everyone that stays over 100 Laurels will be banned.
And no, I am NOT joking. When the default maximum for counters of most things is 250, I don’t think the 100 limit would ever come up unless someone had gone out of their way to try to write it in there. It will be confirmed as an exploit when the mods lock or delete this thread as well, maybe after scattering around a nice pile of infractions.

ONE person claimed he was capped at 100, several people responded that they had over 100 currently or in the past. Nothing was confirmed by anyone from Anet but I find the word of several people who claim they personally have not been limited to 100 laurels to be more believable than one person who posted a message and then never came back to respond to their posts.
Post something controversial, pretend it’s the Truth, and sit back and watch people argue about it. Seems to me there’s a name for this kind of behavior…

1) this is no real exploit because it’s not repeatable
2) not every player knew you get another 10 laurels (for example they guy who made the first topic about it because he was surprised by it – would just be super unfair to ban him and others who just didnt knew this and couldnt have known that it was unintended)

No cap at 100, see pic. I’ve been saving my laurels with no intention on spending them anytime soon. I doubt they would ban for passing the supposed 100L limit that’s been rumored. But then again, no way for us to know what ANet is really up to.
@ReMortis: Did you get that 103 Laurels from having 93 Laurels and then completing the Monthly? We have several confirmed statements from people that managed to exceed the so-called “cap” by this method. What we are trying to determine now is what happens if somebody with more than 100 Laurels completes a Daily. Does the count still go up? Or does it stall?
I got my monthly a few days ago and have been doing the daily ones everyday since then, and the counter still goes up. Did it just yesterday and went from 102 to 103, no problem. I assume the same thing will happen when I do my daily today as I reach 104.
edit: and as far as I recall, hitting my monthly put me near but not at or above 100, and the daily ones got me to where I am from there. Can’t be 100% about this though.
