I haven’t done any of the raid wings to be honest, but I’m curious if they move the storyforward, and explain a bit more of what we’re seeing in ls3 or it’s not needed at all.
If they actually move the story forward and explain things, I think there should be a way to see what happens for those of us who are not good enough for raiding. for example in wow there’s an easy mode that, even if it doesn’t give the same rewards as normal or hard, it still lets us see the cinematics and see what is happening….

Finished instances only reset once per week. You can therefore join someone’s instance and explore it at will (just ask on LFG).

There would likely be a brief summary outside of the raid over the events that transpired within the raid. They did this with the previous raid in Bloodstone Fen. Raid stories are additional content that add onto the existing Living Story but is in no way required to understand the Living Story.

If you want to see the raid stories, players often do post everything on YouTube.

but joining a finished instance wouldn’t really show the story progress, no? besides watching the map I don’t see much use for that.
I didn’t know about the summary, is it an npc or something?

There’s not much story content. Less than in dungeons for instance. But you can talk to the NPC at the beginning of the instance, do the easy side achievements, and (I believe – don’t quote me on that) rewatch the Lazarus cinematics.

I haven’t raided, but I don’t feel I’ve missed out on anything important. Anything that is background lore is covered by the NPC’s in Bloodstone Fen.
