I know I’m gonna get flamed to hell and back from 99% of you but I feel like this is needed. I’m not rushing through the game, I have one toon, lvl 53, and I have not managed to find a group for AC story mode yet. Actually I did find one but they bailed after the first boss because “this is too hard.”

Now, one thing I love about this game is that you are not forced to group to do anything, you get grouped automatically for events. One thing I always hated about other MMOs is having to look for groups, it takes forever. Granted, this pain should be alleviated in GW2 since there’s no looking for a tank or healer but still, I have tried numerous times to look for a group for AC story mode, both while in Divinity’s Reach and while standing outside AC in /say and /map.

I know I’m gonna get a lot of replies like “I’ve never had a problem finding a group for it” or “find a good guild” etc… Or calling me a casual that wants to ruin the game blah blah… Save it, I don’t care. I’d like a response from Anet as to why they don’t want to add a group finder.

I agree, you will get flamed, I’ve seen it in several other games when players ask for this. But truth is, dungeon finder is very good. If I want to do an instance, why is something that helps me do it wrong?
If some players prefer to ask in the chat channel, they could still do it.

There is “a group finder” but it works horrible, basicaly you change your status to LFG, you appear on a list and if someone is looking for group, he may invite you. The problem is, it’s not specified what you’re looking for (questing, dungeon or whatnot) and nobody is using this anyway. I’m playing since 3d head start and I’ve seen maybe three times someone on the list, that’s all.

Of course tl;dr go back to wow, you’re lazy, find a guild, use /map, blah, blah, blah. OP should prepare for some serious accusations coming here very soon.

Look I’m not gonna lie, I feel like group finder really hurt the community in WoW but this is a different type of game. WoW was never as “solo” as GW2 is from the start. Why build the entire game around that aspect and yet make it without a group finder? I don’t play games to make new friends. I have plenty of my own. I play games to escape reality for a while, to have fun, and looking for a group is not fun.

A dungeon finder like in WoW would be the worst thing they could add right now… However in saying that I would like a better group finding tool, the way it is now I don’t even know how to use the <strongkitten /> thing. :/

Here’s what I would like to see implemented: A tool that helps people that are looking for a dungeon find each other faster. There’s no need for a ‘dungeon finder’ since most groups don’t look for a specific profession. Right now, however, the only way to find other people wanting to do the dungeon is to go to that zone and stand outside of it until you see a spot open. A global tool would be nice.

I like dungeon finders. I want one.

Yeah an improved of LFG would be apriciated
For example at the chat box , when u try to create a <<new tab>> u have to tick what new options u would like to have .
The same could apply with <<ticking>> what dungeons (story or exporable) u want particiapated . (u have to be 50 to <<tick>> a 50 lvl dungeon)
And in the upper left corner of the Inteferance , <<Looking for Group>> should have his own icon , and not be hidden inside <<Contacts>>

Edit: And some ability like a filter , in order to see only the ppl that are listed and want to run the dungeo i am interest in (it would be kinda silly checking 300 ppl and most of them in the end , are listed for different dungeos than i want )

actually, with the current state of dungeons you don’t want a dungeon finder. trust me.
