Think they are serious. Could be a speed leveler that ran EOTM or some other similar method. Have fun in swotr or find others to team up with until you figure out what to do solo .

Oh gosh, please no more posts like this. Guild Wars 2 is so easy already, if we actually get players complaining about its difficulty they might nerf the already faceroll content

Providing you’re serious…..you’ll learn combat techniques for these area’s soon enough.
For example. If you’re a ranger, certain pets will draw the enemy’s attention rather than you. Mesmer clone’s divert the enemy. Engineer flame thrower is great, so are grenades. Both Warrior & Guardian should be able to hold their own against level 80 enemy with a variety of weapons & skills. Same with a thief once you get to know which skills, weapons work effectively.

Perhaps, you could find a Guild to play with, and find some help with your playstyle.

The combat system of this game is not as easy and shallow as it looks on first glance. Sure, there is a lot of stuff you can do by just randomly mashing keys on your keyboard. I see my 8-year-old playing like that whenever she’s allowed to play, just randomly hit her 1-0 keys and hope for the best. It makes me cringe inside, but it’s enough to get her little asura ranger through the starter areas.

There is on the other hand a lot more things you can do in this game’s combat if you know your class, know how to use the boons and conditions your weapon and utility skills offer, know how to best combine your traits and gear choices, know how to position yourself, when to move, and how to adjust your skills, traits, weapons and gear stats to the content you’re trying to do.

To know all that takes some thinking and a ton of practice. Eventually you will get to a point where you realize that pretty much all (solo) challenges this game offers are doable with any class. Some combinations are easier than others, but if you fully utilize your options, theres no solo content in this game that you can’t conquer.

The living story achievements (assuming you are talking about those) actually are very accessible. I’m by far not the best nor the most experienced player, but even I’ve been getting those done in a decent time frame. Sometimes I had to try different strategies, sometimes I had to think out of the box, but everything was (is) doable with a moderate amount of experience and some thinking.

If you want to play this game and find it too hard, don’t hesitate to ask for hints and tips on specific classes, areas, and/or achievements, either in-game, in your guild or in map chat, or right here on the forums. Check the wiki and all the other web pages out there for explanations if you can’t figure out how a fight or enemy works. There’s always people around willing to help you with hints and tips. The only thing nobody can help you with is experience, you have to go into the game and get that yourself. One thing is certain though: You won’t get experience in playing GW2 by playing another game.

You must be playing the game wrong, and tbh I’m over players criticizing the game when it’s clearly the player at fault.

This game is a PvE cake walk. If you are a fully geared and properly traited lvl 80 the games mechanics state, as proven fact by the majority, you are doing something wrong. Unless you can give specifics for your fail I’d just say you suck at the game. Have fun in SWTOR.

This is literally one of the easiest mmos I have ever played. Please don’t try to convince them otherwise. Any easier and you will be playing Wizards 101.

A few months ago a hardware issue kaput my computer for a few days. I occupied myself with a bare bones work computer and threw on the first Diablo for kicks. I look at that experience, and how I died several times within the first 5 minutes of the game because it was actually difficult, then I look at how healing signet on warrior can literally out heal ANYTHING the game can throw at you in the starter zones. Then I see a post like this.

I hate this generation.

Most MMO’s are facebook, with the occasional inconvenience of having to swing a sword around or head-butting of a keyboard to progress or “look cool”.

no, it would be hard if everyone had these issues. But they do not. Or at least noone realized champs can be, but are not designed to be soloed.

OP, maybe try teaming up with some buddies, time will get you to learn the things you need to survive!

I played SWTOR for the first year it was out… that game was much more challenging than this one.

Maybe things have changed since I left, but SWTOR had actual challenges in it. I don’t think i’ve ever seen any content in GW2 that I couldn’t complete on the first try except for the first year of the gauntlet, and even that only took me about a dozen tries.

What this game needs is actual challenges, certainly not to be made easier.

SIlverwaste islands – its just ridiculously hard and all the events fail and even the story achievements i cant get a single one done.

What are you doing in the Silverwastes that is so hard? Events aren’t hard there, you need some awareness to avoid the wolves, dodge the thrashers green goo, don’t stay in the red circles when the slingers are bombing the fort etc

Also, if you try to solo take a fort (or defend it) you will fail, they are “Group Events” for a reason. The zone is big and there are events all over the place, go somewhere else if you are alone.

The achievements aren’t hard either, well some might be more challenging, but not hard at all. Check online, for example on Dulfy, with some information on how to do the achievements, there are guides out there that can help if you can’t figure it out yourself.

If you find that content hard then you need to rethink how you play. Your build or your lack of awareness is at fault here.

Use the mines (plant on the dead husk bodies) and you’ll see it’s not that hard to do.
You see? Everything has it’s solution.

what does that have to do with anything? i know plenty of people with degrees that dont play any video games. and im usually pretty good at video games, as i said im good at swtor and someone here mentioned earlier they found it harder than this game.

I’m not a troll at all but your just QQing about content being too hard that I have yet to see any player have serious issues with and yet you seem to be unable to even entertain the fact that it may be you or your gameplay at fault. Yeah it’s pretty tough honestly i think im gonna quit living story stuff altogether and just focus on world boss train and try to fin da guild that focuses on lower level zones, imo they are the most fun to play in.

Also, if you are used to just running into a group of monsters and mashing keys to kill them, then you will definitely find Silverwastes harder. Look at the monster descriptions under their health bars. Some of them require specific positioning, or AoE to avoid. And if you don’t have at least two condition removal type abilities (combos included) available in that zone, you will have a bad time.

In Silverwastes you need to pay attention. You need to fight one monster at a time if you are dying a lot, not run into a group like the other zones in GW2.

You may very well need to change your utilities and traits while you play in that zone. (I’m going out on a limb to assume you are playing a zerk build as most people new to the game will default to that build). Zerker is solid DPS, but is mostly meant for people that know how to time dodges properly and use combos/condition removal properly (once you get to “difficult” content).

You really need to be OK with things dying slower in that zone and taking more effort than normal to kill. But also realize this is what pretty much every player has been wanting. The majority of PvE in GW2 is faceroll. We need content like this. You simply need to adapt.

Wish i could have a go solo or with 1-2 friends on those legendary bosses but mega servers keep throwing me into instances with hordes of other people. I am not sure what you mean with “hard if not impossible to get achievements”, the ones i know of that are is in wvw where you have to kill 1 million yaks or spent 2.5million supps on repair but thats another story.

I don’t see what’s hard about setting a mine (one key-press), position behind it (one key press) and luring the group of wolves into it (one mouse-click and one key-press).

so what builds do peopel run in silverwastes? is zerk no longer good?

I run zerker build but just grab any build as long you feel comfortable with it.
