I think that a change to the way experience scrolls work would make them more useful to those who don’t have any characters below level 20. Personally I bought character slots with gems to have one of each profession and ended up getting all of my toons to at least level 22. Now I have 2 experience scrolls just sitting in my bank.

I don’t see why the scrolls can’t just give a flat amount of XP that would raise a level 1 character to level 20. This flat XP would still be useful on characters above level 20 but wouldn’t just raise them 20 more levels because of the leveling curve.

TLDR: make XP scrolls give flat XP to characters of any level.

Would be a good idea now have 5 of these sat in storage with no use unless I delete a character.

making the 2nd year scrolls stackable with the 1st year would also b nice also, instead of taking up extra storage slots

Yeah I was surprised that they didn’t stack as well. I’m running out of bank space.

I think every year the experience scrolls should cover the next spread of levels. This year 20-40. next year 40-60 etc. People who play for 5 years deserve a method of creating a lvl 80 toon without the work.

Skill point scrolls (both the single point and the 5 pointers) should all be soulbound or all be account bound. making this new 5 point scroll that we got for our b-day soulbound irks me. I wouldn’t have even thought of this if this form of currency was exactly what it implied… a characters skill level.

I don’t think there is a leveling curve other than things being faster from 1 to 10. After that it’s a flat rate. So they would give 20 levels or close to it no matter where one started.

I suggested a flat rate when they were first released. Haven’t really heard any official comment about it sense. I’m thinking they may have a specific reason why they won’t do it.

I think keeping the XP scrolls a flat amount of XP would be better than a lvl 20-40 xp scroll or 60-80 scroll for instance. It makes them more universally useful while still incentivising people to use them early on to get more of a level gain out if them.

I would prefer if the XP scrolls worked like the following.

If the character’s level is less than 20, they get boosted to 20. If their level is 20 up to level 30, they get boosted to level 31. From that point on, every XP scroll would raise the character 5 levels (just enough to unlock a new trait point).

That way they still have a use, and they’re not so broken that it messes up the leveling process. After all, at this point any level that does not give a trait point is pretty much a filler level.

Just wanted to chime in that I also had all slots filled with toons over level 20 (I lied, I did use one of my gifts as my toon was 19!).

I also thought it was odd that they wouldnt give some flat boost of XP (or other reward) making it usefull to everyone as a bday present, and not penalize those with chronic altism : ) Right now its like that sweater grandma gave me… Takes up room in my closet and never gets worn (and yes it is the thought that counts, I do appreciate anet is rewarding loyalty).
