extra bag slots to account wide
I’d agree with that. I find myself less motivated to play on other characters I made because of the smaller inventory space, and it would be extremely time consuming to put forth the effort of increasing the amount of bag slots for all of them. (I do not think bag slots are worth putting in real money for myself.)
I’d personally dislike a change like this. I tend to keep a couple sets of armour on me so that I can switch stats conveniently, and then each weapon type the profession can use. Trying to cram all of these from different characters into a single account bound inventory would be crippling.
Hmm, could do it this way: You unlock the slots with Gems, which then unlocks by default on character it was bought, then you need to make some consumable with mystic forge and/or crafting for every else character (since they already added side quest related gem store stuff, like woolly glider and angry wintersday present). Something to do as extra.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
I actually hoped that once you buy a bag slot on the gem store it would apply to all of your characters, like a global unlock

Anet would have to refund over 16,000 gems to my accounts if this ever happens. so yeah.

No they would not. You got to enjoy that extra space for that price. Things change, and you would just accept it with a smile.

Do you really think that ANet would want to go through another round of hostile feedback? They might not be required to refund the gems; they would be under pressure to do something for folks that had bought more than a few extra slots.
Accordingly, it’s not as simple as the OP suggests.

This, it’s FAR too late to change it.

Why should they? The people got to enjoy the extra bag space during that time, They got the gems worth of value. It is quality of life change that helps new players come in, and willing to spend money on the extra space because of the global on all chars.
So that pressure they can just ignore. Things change and quality of life improvement for players>That negative feedback.
If they bought the bag slots a week before the change, did they get their money’s worth? Three days before the change? One day?
What’s the time period that makes it worthwhile? Assuming you choose a cut-off, do you think those that purchased the day before that arbitrary cut-off won’t feel cheated? Those that purchased a week before?
It would cause a furor no matter what was decided as policy, I believe.

If they want to be “Nice” they can just say month before.
But who cares if it causes a furor? MMO community cry about every little thing. People will get over it, and more alts will get made.
I’m not sure that spending a certain amount of Gems, say 600, for only a month’s worth of use will go over well with the community. Should other items offered only be usable for 30 days? I mean, if the Gem Store can just change the time something is viable, and say, ‘Who cares? The community cries about every little thing…’, what will be changed next?
Be careful what you ask for…

I’m not saying that ANet cannot or should not change the way additional bag slots are implemented. I am saying it’s not as simple as “just do it and let previous purchasers deal with it”.
People are going to complain loudly, regardless of whether they are completely justified in their righteous indignation. That will be bad for the game and for the community, since it will distract from whatever good (or bad) stuff happens during the same feature update.
So if/when ANet makes such a change, they have to be ready for the outrage, they have to be prepared for the inevitable questions and customer service requests, they have to be prepared to change their plans.
And I can see ANet thinking: you know, perhaps we should not have made bag slots bound to the character, but is it really worth the effort and resulting aggro to change it now?
