few questions about HOM rewards
gah this is getting too kittening confusing. screw it is it okay if Just have my glasses+radiant gloves+jormags breath sword (i think its cooler than fiery anyways) + commanders tag + veteran title + 100% map icon for when I hang out in LA? or do you HAAVE to get the fiery sword? what else is good to replace it when guildies link theirs?
The HoM rewards are account-based, and you can continue to work on it after linking accounts as well.
You can keep working on it, no problems.
When you link your account, all rewards available for the amount of points you have become available on the eye of the north, and once you use it once, also on your wardrobe without the need to spend a transmutation charge. If you keep playing GW1 and gain more points, the new rewards you earn are activated in GW2.
BTW, if I already had jormag’s breath, personally I would work towards fiery sword, just so I could dual wield icy and fiery swords..

how do you get the armors statues? do you get a statue in your inventory when you make a set of certain armor? honestly screw this its not worth it to me! you guys think im lazy but im doing a lot in gw2 and I have a mental disability and have to pace myself, and its societies expectations that made my life hell – its hard enough just managing getting through each day without shooting myself let alone all this extra necessary bullkitten
To answer your question…
You can link the account and still continue to work on your HoM in GW1. The additions will be translated automatically to your GW2 account upon login.
To unlock an armor statue within the GW1 HoM, you must buy/‘craft’ a full set of prestige armor (all 5 pieces).
To the rest of what was said in this thread: Wat? Were some posts deleted or am I reading this thread in the right order. Or did I just get trolled. u___u
Answering your original question, as far as I understand it (I might be wrong) depends on the point. For example the ones about having a specific armor or weapon can be done on any character, but the ones like “10 minis” and the like count the character with the most minis, so it’s usually best to dedicate them all in the same character.
That said, if it’s not worth it to you then it’s just not worth it, period. Don’t worry about it, nobody is going to judge you or think you’re lazy or anything else based on what you have or don’t have on a video game. I did say I’d go for the fiery sword, for example, but I’d do it because I do enjoy playing GW1. Personally I have a set rule for myself, the moment I feel I’m actually “working” on something (as in, something I feel someone should pay me to do instead of something I WANT to do for fun), I stop playing and go play something else.

On the GW1 wiki is a thread that talks you through how to get the HoM rewards with the least amount of work.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guide_to_earning_Hall_of_Monuments_rewards
And obviously, there is the calculator to see what you have earned, etc. just put your GW1 charcter name in at the top.

The helmet is actually not needed, so that’ll save you a fair bit of money/mats (especially for expensive sets like Vabbian or Luxon). Just the other four pieces (chest, leggings, boots, gloves) are necessary in order to put the statue in. (I just put in a set of Vabbian, Norn, and Ancient this week, and all three sets are helmless yet I had no trouble getting the 3 points for them).

To put an armor statue in, put the set on, and talk to the Resilience monument and it’ll give you a prompt to put a statue in for that set. Minis just have to be in your inventory. Heros must be in your party, and aside from M.O.X, must have an alternate armor set. Titles, campaign completion, or elite area completion statues are put in just by talking to the Honor monument. Weapons (if I remember correctly) just have to be in your inventory, and are placed in when you talk to the monument.
If you’re just playing for the GW2 rewards, you may feel it’s more of a chore. Play it if you like(d) the game or lore, and let the HoM points come as they come.
As you add things into your HoM, it’ll automatically update your score on GW2 the next time you log in. This works regardless of when you link the accounts. I played GW2 for almost two years before I bought GW1 at the beginning of August, and had no issue filling in things.
Your total HoM score will count each unique item from each character’s HoM. It’s safest (in that it’s easier to see duplicates) to put your minis all on the same character. Also be sure you don’t try to put the same weapon or armor type in two different character’s HoM’s (ie, an Inspiration Destroyer Scepter on one, and an Earth Destroyer Scepter on another) as that’ll only count as a single Destroyer Scepter.
