I agree with you that there aren’t a ton of places for us to go at cap, though. If you want a challenge, go to Southsun Cove and look for the Giant Kalka’s. Everything there puts up a better fight than most other maps. Besides that, dungeons/fractals/helping the guild here, lol.
Would you rather just one shot every enemy in lower level areas? Yeah that sounds like fun.
If you’re asking for more level 80 content, I can understand. It doesn’t seem like there are enough level 80 zones given how much of the population has hit the level cap. The level 80 zones are all packed with players whereas most of the mid level zones are barren.
Yes… how dare you reach 80… do it again and you’ll be going to bed with no dinner. .
I don’t know… even with the whole dynamic leveling thing, I still feel like I can dominate virtually any place with my L80 Ranger (of all classes). Well, any place except Southsun Cove. I mean, I can probably take a Veteran Karka alone, but not it and everything else that typically gets involved. My last encounter there involved a Vet Karka and half a dozen Reef Riders, and the focused fire from the Reef Riders was what killed me.
Time to play another game until they actually add something to do at 80 besides fighting the DR monster while trying to get a legendary.
Sometimes I am just so confused.. I payed 60 dollars for this game and got someething like 60 hours of game play before i hit level 80.. compared to something like BF3 where i payed 60$ for a 6 hour story line on the hardest difficulty. Even Dragon Age i got 40 hours. diablo 3, 10 hours.. and so on..
If a game is not fun/disappointing for you why not just move on to another game?
only to feel like i’am bein punished for reaching 80.only a couple areas where you can be 80 and 3/4 of the map you can’t .i know you want us to down scale when we go to lower zones but i dont see how that is fair .you say you can play with some one just starting out well they can makea new toon to play with lower level friend dont punish me for getting to 80 3/4 of the map i cant be 80 i hate that
Levels are just a arbitrary number once you hit the cap. It’s your armor and traits that make you stronger.
The game has downscaling because the world is meant to be dynamic. Anet wants to develop lower level zones for all players.
Think of 80 as when the game becomes a sandbox. Go anywhere and play what you want.
were you familiar with downscaling concept before purchasing the game?
OP the beauty of this game is that when you are 80 the entire game is open before you not just 3 maps- I have been 80 for a long time and I certainly don’t feel forced to live in Orr.
The downscaling works very well and is even still too forgiving for my tastes, you get your own level drops in lower lvls so why do you feel that you can only play in an 80 zone?
I do understand that you want more lvl 80 content- I’m sure we all do, just as I’m sure we will get it as the game matures.
Stop thinking of the number 80 and just play what/where you enjoy.
