finishers more often in pve?
The Toxic mobs needing to be finished was an experiment by ANet. The reaction from players at the time was — with some exceptions — dislike and annoyance. I’m among those who are annoyed by the mechanic in PvE. Well, I dislike it in WvW also, but can understand why it’s there.
they could let us finish dungeon endbosses maybe
so it is always just 1 enemy at the end of a dungeon…
so you can use those pretty finishers without being annoyed by every enemy having to be finished

From what I have seen you are not required to do the finisher? If not I would suggest they handle it that way: when they get below a minimum you can use a finisher or just kill them the normal way. Another option would be to let a finisher be used for a second after they are dead. It is fun seeing different finishers being used and nice to see my own ‘win the race’ sometimes.
Another variation would be to fire them off in PVE other than going to the hero panel.
Currently we can use them in PVE on one type of toxic creature mainly in kessex hill and gendaran fields. I am sure there is some historical reason for this. Anyway, why not generally allow them in PVE, or at least let a few more types of common monsters have the ability to use them? If the logic is ‘well, they are humanoid’ what about bandits, separatists, the nightmare court, svanir, and so on?
If you want to see your finisher more, play a PvP game mode. Allow PvPers to have their defining features and skins The logic is that finishers are for PvP, not for eye candy. The point of the different finishers is for bragging rights. NPCs don’t feel anything from getting stomped, hence there’s no reason to have them in PvE and as was pointed out, it can be annoying for PvE players to have that stomp delay.

I would rather keep finishers out of PvE.
It’s irritating to have to finish enemies in PvE, and if there’s not another player battling for his/her life on the other end, it’s less exciting than it is a hassle. Up until LS1 enemies started requiring finishers, I thought of the downed state as something heroic that set player characters apart from NPCs. Having to finish random Toxic Alliance dudes diminishes that.
Umm, I still do not see the problem with having them in PVE as an OPTIONAL, not REQUIRED, way of doing the coup de gras on something or right after they die? When something’s health gets below a certain threshold either keep killing it like you are doing or you can use a finisher.
No, I will not go into another game mode just so I can see a finisher. If you are calling the finisher a skin for PVP then I just have one thing to say. Leave our armor/weapon skins to PVE, you can use generic armor, right? How do you like it when the shoe is on the other foot?
Nah, finishing is bothersome and has no place in PvE. It makes sense in PvP were you want to show off that you beat someone, but not against NPC’s.
I would rather not waste my time waiting for a finisher to run its animation after every kill I make. I remember a lot of people on the forums being quite annoyed during the Tower of Nightmares release about being forced to use a finisher on just one NPC type, I could only imagine the rage if they had to do it on more.
I like the idea of optional finishers on certain enemies in PvE, but it would be way too much if it were not optional or if you had to use it on every enemy.
Some players may not play PVP or don’t really like PVP play.
Yes. to all those saying no, you can just keep damaging them. You’re never required to use a finisher even in pvp.
I really like the toxic enemies, and I feel like the other npcs should be brought up to the same level as the toxic enemies, because they use condis extensively, dodge attacks, have access to more ablilities, and need t be finished, at which point you need to finish them or cleave them down before an ally comes and scares you off.
Terrible idea for trash mobs. May be some merit in using them on champs/legendary bosses.
Tarnished Coast.
I would like to use Finishers more often in PvE. If they are only for PvP, do BLC keys drop often in PvP, as well as BLC chests? Because they added Finishers to the loot table; or are they discriminating against PvP players?
I really thought mostly PvE players got those chests. Of course, I may be mistaken; I rarely PvP.

Agreed – nothing else to add

Exactly. I bought a particular finisher because I liked it, even though I do not pvp and do wvw only rarely. I enjoy seeing what other people have bought as well.
I think some other people are missing part of my suggestion: it would not be something required. This could either be an option when they get below some health threshold (where they will die in the next second anyway) or immediately after they have been killed. I also would have no problem if they only applied to some monsters, say, variants of the 5 races.
It would certainly make PVE interesting if you suddenly had random finishers being fired off at times!

Except you know……trying to finish off someone who is getting rezzed

Clearly thats the case as I finish ever single pve armor set in less than a month of PvP track.

Knock back, stuns, knock downs, etc. It’s not like you can’t stop someone from being rezed.

it would be nice if we could use them in raids to finish off the trash.
normally they go immune at 0 HP and require you to deplete the break bar, it would be fun if we could use the finisher there instead
