Crappy reward system and introducing new tier items into one spot is what has made the GW2 world hollow. Two bad decisions that will haunt ANet for ever IMO.

ANet puts too much focus on TP and player focus too much on having the best gier. What is funny is that both parties deny its NOT TRUE.

So the sad reality is it’s the players who have succumb to ANet’s vision that have ruined the GW2 world to a greater extend.

Bring the loot back to open world and people will return to PvE
Ditch the broken magic find mechanics and people will return to PvE
Have the same loot drop in open world as it does in FotM and people will return to PvE..

As I have said.

It is the players that need to get out there and do and look for this stuff.

They have gotten use to dungeons and pvp and thus lazy.
We all need to get out there and explore a little and we may get a big surprise once we do

What incentives are there to do that with a lvl 80 character, especially with the poor loot drops in the open world compared to dungeons and fractals? Simply exploring the world with any objective isn’t enough for most people.

Well per Anet. Working through the various endings in the meta-event webs in Orr. Legendaries

Warriors are those who choose to stand between their enemy and all that he loves or hold sacred

I don’t know what you talking about; be the change you seek in the world, I’ve been a lvl 80 for couple of months and all I do is roam around in the world… ‘course I try to do the daily achievements and such but I’m an explorer at heart and I know that there are hidden mini dungeons and jumping puzzles all over the place which I need to find to show to my guildies. Found the skritt burglar over 10 times already >_<

Not only does the world need to feel more threatened by events that can change it permanently (or at least week long terms, basically something so huge it affects gameplay and inspires people to do something about it), but there needs to be more to do. Not just combat and escort, but mini-games and mini activities like helping farmers plant stuff or training troops or painting walls or SOMETHING. It’s a world but you really can’t do very much in it.

I’d also love to see very rare, random monster spawns that reward you with unique, monster themed armor and weapons. Things you can’t time, but are very exciting and rewarding to stumble upon when they show up, and give you cosmetic items to show you were there.

yep gw2 has the most beautiful pve world imo. I don’t enjoy pve normally but running around in this world doing stuff was quite good times. it COULD be a blast with some mentioned additions.

Who cares if centaurs conquered the map or not? more impact on the map please!
furthermore really harsh boss monsters with random spawn rates would be so nice! anyone remember ragnarok 2? suddenly seeing that MVP boss monster rageing through the map? they were deadly and gave nice nice rewards.
remember those dragons in gw2? where standing afk spamming autoattack is sufficient to get the crap lootchest?
never have seen an enemy as big as those dragons that are sooo simple to defeat.

bring back the epicness into the world

I like more secret stuff around the world. Like jumping puzzles, although they have been discovered already and already done them all… Except for Emerald and Sapphire Sanctum.

The world is beautiful.

But I can understand something people pointed out in the other thread.

As pretty as the world is, it doesn’t feel very cohesive. I have nothing against contrasting High Fantasy Swords/Sorcery/Dragons, with Alchemy, with Steampunk, and with Submarines/Tanks/Helicopters. Everyone has different tastes. But like they said in the other thread, it all feels very random. Like they put in all those elements in there just because they could.

It doesn’t feel like this is one world. Feels more like a theme park.

Last time I heard Nexon holds like 19% or 20% of the shares so I really doubt their calling any shots,

Actually it only owns 14.7%, but that’s still enough to make it the largest shareholder. And I think I heard there’s also a guy from nexon in charge of the cash shop.
So yeah, they probably do have considerable influence.

I’d personally like to see dynamic events that are more interactive and/or actually take some strategy to complete instead of steam rolling through with far larger numbers. Events where you actually make choices on who to side with or how to complete them, etc rather than just win or lose. I’d also like to see things that add structures you can interact with, kind of like the bridge building ones, but with things with more impact (you can just go right across the river if the bridge isn’t there).

And maybe some random wandering npcs or hitmen and thieves like in skyrim. It’s always fun when a group of thugs show up to murder you :p Makes you feel special.

I love the open world of GW2 and wish I never had to step foot in a dungeon. (know that I will have to eventually to grind for gold.)

I want more DEs so that we see less of them. That way zones feel exciting and new, and a little alive.

I’d also like to see DEs interact a bit more. Like say for instance, you do an escort event, half way through it runs into a bandits attacking the road deal. Because both intersected at the same time, a new event kicks off. Bandits raid the caravan and run off to their camp. From this an event happens where you need to go get the goods back. If they happen at different times, you see the one or the other, but just because the two interacted, an entirely unique event occur out of the two.

I’d also like zone bosses to be a bit more active, maybe not always spawn at the same location. Perhaps they can even overwhelm the active players if there’s too few of them, and them move to a town, here it destroys the town, which you then need to help repair once the boss is defeated. This would create a level of urgency and even add some danger to these large, menacing entities.
