Since the fractal patch, I did not get an other first fractal as swamp, I tried to find groups that would do that. It is nearly impossible. So I would suggest instead 3 fractals with a bonus, 4 fractals with a bonus, where the first fractals always will be swamp.

Okay the above is stated a bit hars, the point is however, the fractal patch did make tiers to stop pre-rolling. People however are still doing it. So it would be nice if a better solution would be introduced. And for me at the moment the game pre-rolling swamp is better as the current situation, where I just never see certain fractals.

Or, I don’t know, make the other fractals that are on the same tier as swamp as fast as swamp? I think they mostly split the fractals in tiers based on difficulty, not speed, but since everyone is looking for speed it causes a problem.

Is it really that hard to start your own group, roll the first first fractal yourself, and put in “starting with water” or whatever? I’ve pugged quite a few groups that don’t pre-roll. It’s only on 49s that I see people absolutely insistent on getting swamp first.

Don’t like re-rolling? Make an LFG that says “no re-rolling” and then you can stop complaining about how other people like to play the game.

the only time i don’t see people rolling swamp is in 10-19s, and they still roll swamp 60% of the time

People roll swamp for a certain reason. The other first tier fractals suck. Actually the whole fractal tier thing is silly.
Ascalon is not so easy at level 49 and NPCs bug out sometimes. I don’t know about others but the whole fractal is a lagfest for me. Like really bad, especially the first part with the open area and with those dumb knockbacks that just annoy you.
Water is..ok I guess with forcing people to do underwater content and at higher levels maybe they actually read the skill description on weapons. But the last boss is painful. It has ton of HP at lower levels already. At 49 is like watching dipteras engange in intercourse.
But the main reason is next fractal might be dredge.

I was more interested in this thread when I thought it was titled “Fractal Pre-trolling”. Its my bad, but… I can’t help feel a little diasppointed…

the funny part: It feels like when you start with swamp, you’re more likely to get uncategorized or cliffside for the second one.
I prefer starting with underwater. I just solo the first part while waiting for people to join the party. caution: only doable on level ~15 or less. with swamp, so many people want to wait for a full party before even running the wisps. That, or they can’t run the wisps and hope someone will join that can.

1st Tier – fastest maps.
2nd Tier – middle ground.
3rd Tier – longest maps.

They didn’t do it to stop pre-rolling, they did it so you couldn’t cheese a super-quick Fractal with Swamp -> Water -> Harpy.

I would have no problem doing the underwater one at lvl 49 if the underwater combat wasn’t so badly broken, you ever tried to fight them vet krait at lvl 49, you are dead before you can even cast a skill.

Dredge at 49 is horrible but with a good team easily done, on my last 5 runs at 49 ive gotten dredge 3rd, so im glad we roll swamp first so we are not in there for longer than we need, ive found that we get Cliffside 2nd, I always get drege 3rd, and Cliffside isn’t always so fast.
