several people have mentioned getting an in game message from anet containing the new food recipe because they bought rich coffers before they had added the recipe to the drop pool.

will everyone who purchased the coffers get this? or did you have to purchase a certain amount of them?

i searched and couldn’t find another thread about this

from the patch notes it looks like anyone who purchased rich coffers at all will get those recipes. But some people will get them later than others due to limitations of gw2 postal system.

I think if you purchase the coffers after they made the patch you will not get one in the mail. I think what happened is they were suppose to be an RNG drop from the coffers but there was some flaw that made them impossible to drop. So if you buy a coffer now you are not guaranteed to get one.

Fixed a bug with Rich Dragon Coffers where recipes were not included in the drop table. There is now a rare chance to receive the Dragon’s Revelry Starcake recipe. Dragon’s Revelry Starcakes give a 30 minute buff to all armor stats, Magic Find, and experience from kills.

All players that purchased a Rich Dragon Coffer before the fix above was added will receive 1 Dragon’s Revelry Starcake recipe via in game mail as compensation. This compensation is scheduled to be delivered in a few days.

I just checked and I got mine in the mail sometime in the last few hours. I think I bought 3 or 4 with some spare change before the patch occurred.

Got 1. I purchased one on the first day it was available to see if the rate of drop was actually high. It wasnt.

Well to be fair testing one coffer to evaluate the rate drop is probably not going to provide very accurate results. However, your conclusion turned out to be correct.

I can’t answer that for you since unfortunately they don’t disclose the odds. I’m guessing not since they were suppose to be in there in the first place.
