August 23-25, 2013 was a free weekend. That’s how I got hooked.

when will they have another one

It’s had several & it generally causes problems.
Lot’s of spam bots & gold sellers
Tons of cheater accounts made for wvw

Yeah the tricky part about free weekends/trials for this game is that a significant part of endgame is open to these free accounts (which is good and bad…). They can influence pvp, wvw, and as mentioned gold selling, spam botting etc.

Unlike most MMOs where free trials are basically restricted to a starter area or level so that they don’t really have any impact.
