leveling ele and mesmer to 80 is absolute blast while my guardian and warrior is stuck in the 30s

i guess the feeling of “i cant believe i just survived that” is important to me

only have ranger as medium and its been alright

You should try out a thief… I had to have “i cant believe i just survived that” recorded for playback so my voice didn’t go hoarse

I would say the opposite. I have an 80 elementalist in all exotics and the damage intake is always traumatizing vs the damage output.

On my warrior I will attack anything, any time, in any quantity and almost always come out barely scathed. I can’t way to see how pathetically different they are at 80 (warrior is 57). Warriors also have multiple awesome elites, so many awesome slots skills it’s impossible to choose between them, and excellent variety in weapon skill packages.

Warrior feels like a complete class. Elementalist feels maybe 50% complete by comparison with a lot of filler garbage in slot and elites.

Elementalist is glass and warror ended up with the cannon with extreme survivability.

There’s a a reason why there are zero elementalist bots in orr and why warrior bots are very common. Warrior can be scripted to faceroll multiples. Any elementalist attack that does significant and still inferior damage requires precise placement and is hard to land on moving mobs (while the ele themselves must be constantly moving).

I love my ele, but objectively, it’s really stupid how glass they are while lacking any significant punch compared to some classes that can either take the hits, or have so many diversions (pets, illusions, etc) going on that they just don’t take all the hits.

Ele = fun. Warrior = laughing regularly at the absurdaty of the OPness.

Of course, why bother rolling an elementalist if you need to spend more effort for less results?

I just got my warr to 80 yesterday and i had tons of fun with it all the way. There’s nothing better than rushing into a crowd just to realize that you may have just overestimated your capabilities. And then 2 more mobs you haven’t noticed join the party.

Good times..

On my engineer, I’ve had plenty of “I can’t believe I survived that” as well considering how squishy I am. Though thank god for the grenades, flamethrower and rifle skills. I would be so screwed without them.

Nothing like Tossing nades into a group of mobs and then grenade barrage… then they all rush at you and your like… “Well…. Kitten.”

I had much fun leveling my Guardian. I still do, but since I’m almost 100%, I’m not playing as much as before and I’ve been leveling an Elementalist now.

What I like about the Guardian is just like alfista said, you rush into a crowd just to notice a bit later “oh snap” and you gotta work hard to survive.
This happens with any single mob on my Elementalist though… but I’m getting better lately, and I’ve been able to take 3~4 mobs at once now with relative ease.

But even though spells and attunements are cool, I think nothing beats being a melee profession. Playing zoomed in, watching the creatures from really close, dodging their attacks in the last second, aiming my attacks perfectly… that’s FUN!
