game vs forums
The GW2 forums is the new MMO. {:-þ
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
I spend more time in the game, by far.
Sadly, forums. Waiting for change that will give gw2 second life…
Left the game in August, now i just keep checking the forum every now and then to see if everything changes for the better…
So far that made me want to unistall the game for good…
Overall game, but lastly I spent more time on the forums and only check the game when there’s a new patch. I just don’t like the direction the game is going.
go into the game and ask the same question
Forums definitely!
Forum. Because my working hour is longer than my gaming hour!
We should be VERY cautious here. Otherwise the ability to post, reply to and quote messages in the forum will be exclusive to gem shop purchases.
Forums unfortunately.
I have a full time job, here I have access to forums but I can’t play, so I can spend a good part of my 8~9 hours of work here on forums, but I only have around 3 hours/day to play.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)

I wouldn’t doubt or put this past them one bit.

Anticipate it in Spring 2014.

So true
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
I got bored with the game, so now I check the forums to see if anything of interest pops up that might make me want to play. Nothing has brought me back since…. 3 or 4 months ago I think. Anyway, I won’t have an opportunity to play Guild Wars 2 again for 2 entire years, so I wonder how it’ll change during those 2 years of my absence.
Oh.My.God. This is just sad.
And this, my friends, is the reason why what is said on the forums do not reflect the general opinion in game.

Because there’s more people on the forums than in game?

Just the same dozen or so names on the forums.
Every day.
forums, much more exciting.
Definitely game. Semi-retirement does have it’s perks.
Game by far, only come on here occasionally.
People spend more time on the forums then in game when they are bored with the game but unwilling to move on. The only game that spending time on the forums ever got me back into the game was Diablo 3 (ironically).
When forums are filled with people who are as bored and unsatisfied with the game as yourself it’s unlikely to help.

More time on the Forum. So much fun here.
This forum is the Guild Wars 2 Legacy.
A mind game between censorship and freedom.
FA
I spend more time in game but i keep the forums up when i am playing the game.
Guild : OBEY (The Legacy) I call it Obay , TLC (WvW) , UNIV (other)
Server : FA

and this post here is why the game never goes past it carrot on stick one month zerg fest
You’re asking people on the forums. I wonder how many people in game would answer forums?
Darkhaven Commander
Co-leader of [Sold]
Game…by a long shot….and I spend a LOT of time here, so you can imagine how much time I spend in the game.
Forums, not at home.

I don’t think you understood what I meant…
The forums are far more fun and entertaining than the game. I don’t even know when I last logged into the game. August..September?
Mostly I come here to see if ArenaNet have unscrewed this game yet, but so far it sure doesn’t look that way.
So I’m still a sad, disappointed longtime Guild Wars junkie who’s playing something else now and probably always will…
The game. I’ve all but given up on these forums.
You’re asking people on the forums. I wonder how many people in game would answer forums?
Lol! Yeah, this should be asked in game too.
Game, for now. Coz i have new toon to explore and level up.
Really is nice playing a lowbie and forgetting the mess of top end stuff
50/50 Game is fun but really if you log in and go to major cities you’ll find more people standing around talking than really playing so really the forums exist inside the game too.
Forums unfortunately.

Same here, add on to that a rather long commute where you have access via smart phone and your forum to in game time ratio is even greater >.<
I’d much prefer to be in game though.
Forum. Because my working hour is longer than my gaming hour!
Kinda this.
Please give us a keyring…
As other people have said asking here will lead to biased answers. I know several people in the game who never come to the forum, or only come once in a while when they’re unsure of something.
I visit the forum a lot, but mainly (like now) when I’m at work on my lunch break and can’t play. When I’m at home I usually only read the forum to see answers to things I posted earlier and if I’m unsure of something and need info.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Forums because College. Way easier to browse the forums on my phone than it is to because my freetime with my computer is so comparatively limited. Especially with it nearing the end of the semester.
Part-time Kittenposter
About the same, the only reason being that I can check the forums while at work but cannot play while at work
Im on the forums more during the week… only because they help pass the time while I’m at work. After I’m done with work for the day, and on weekends, I’m on the game for as much time as I can squeeze in. (Sadly, not as much as I would like since I do have a family and a life outside of work and gaming)
I suspect many, like myself, are here because they are at a place where can not be in the game and play. I come during the week to fill in down time at work, its how us with families keep up with the latest happenings.

Game by far. I only use the forums while I’m at work. If I could play the game at work, I’d rather do that. Too much QQ on the forums.. I always have to remind myself that those are other peoples opinions and to not let them drag me down.

Beyond big updates the forums have become quite stale and useless, standard mmo complaint forum. I love the early days, there’s actually some discussion on strats and builds, which usually (and did) devolves into mines better (with no info/reasons) and l2p arguments.
Par for the course =D
Forums, not at home.
Yup. Same here. If I am at home I’m either enjoying gaming or one of my other hobbies.
When I have down time at work (which happens frequently) I visit the forums related to those hobbies. This is merely one of many I visit over the course of a work week.
Forum. Because my working hour is longer than my gaming hour!
True that!
Used to be game, but there’s so much that should be changed I basically stopped playing. Now it’s forums, as I wait to see if they improve anything to the point where I want to play again.
Old approach was probably 100 hours in game for every hour on the forums – now I only log in every second saturday, to see if the guild is up to anything. Check the forums daily though, with (rapidly dwindling) hope.
I only enter in the forum for now, waiting for something.
