games using Gw2 concept art for advertising
I can understand why someone might think they can get away with using concept art but using an actual screenshot from the game? Just… wow. There are no words for this.
Wow, good catch, better get on this A-net that kitten is just insulting. There’s an ever increasing number of game “developers” that just rip assets from other games and mash them together and try to get away with charging money :\
It probably needs to be directly reported, but I have no idea who you would send it to other than community@arena.net. That department handles art questions.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-content-terms-of-use/
Our art assets-be they concept art, in-game screenshots, verbal content, or renders-are all copyrighted materials. Their use is strictly prohibited unless approved in advance and in writing by ArenaNet. Specific questions concerning the appropriate use of our content should be directed to community@arena.net.
ANet may give it to you.
Anybody else catch the blatant font and styling rip-off for Wrath of the Lich King in the subtitle? The creative team behind that app must be terrible

Ironically, arenanet removed theses poses from the game.
lol, this is funny
I’ve seen plenty of this going on. Those aren’t even the worst examples I’ve seen! It’s been reported to Anet before (there have been a few threads about this), but I’ve no idea if they take any action. Maybe they find imitation to be the sincerest form of flattery
Lots of artists and designers make gw2 fanstuff like t shirts and decals and so on (I have a ton of them lol), I’m sure Anet are perfectly happy with that, maybe it’s legally difficult to stop the one without stopping the other.
They have had issues with other games doing this as well. Here is what Gaile requests if you run across such things:

Thanks for these notes. We’ve filed on this before and the ad was pulled. But it seems to have reappeared. If you could kindly post a direct link to the ad — not to where the ad leads but to the ad itself — we can investigate.
