giving this another shot
Well… There’s still nothing to do PVE wise,, still no skill-based dungeons/team setups RIP GW1

Which is it, people?!
Join a couple of guilds. It might be easier if you have people to talk to while adventuring, even if you don’t actually group with them. Keep the one you like most and ditch the others later.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
thanks for the feedback, I’ll see how it goes. I guess I’m just itching for some RPG. I had been DM’ing a D&D 4th edition (yes I know..pathfinder was much better) but the group kinda fell apart, I let my WoW sub expire just before MoP release so i figured may as well give GW2 another try.
@Tolmos, i’m also on Tarnished Coast

It’s both, some people are bad, some people are not bad.
You will be bored of GW2… it’s very niche and doesn’t have any progression. It’s not suddenly different or better than when you played before.

And here’s all you need to know about how crappy of an MMO this is.
Jeez, alot of emo people in this thread xD
The game is amazing, it may lack ultra hard pve for some but i pve casually and focus on pvp more.
Welcome back and i hope you will enjoy it more than you did last time This MMO is quite a bit different than the rest so it does take a long time to get used to, just make sure to play with a friend or two!
And i hope you like pvp :P
Oh and you feel lost because Gw2 is just weird and does not follow the traditional way of other MMOs, i felt like that too(especially when i did my first dungeon, it felt so weird i didnt touch another for a long time) but really.. you get used to it.. and then soon prefer it over other MMO systems

Good luck OP, here’s to hoping you find something!
Funny considering that the so called “bad” people were who Anet was advertising to for 7 years. now that they have the “good” people the world is empty, the gear treadmill is in full swing, and content is nowhere to be seen or is completely temporary. Which would you rather have? A game teeming with life full of the “bad” people keeping the game healthy and alive and the content streaming in or the “good” people causing the slow and agonizing death of the game because the majority of players don’t want to play anymore due to the overwhelming problems focusing on a single niche design brings?
hmmm no brainer methinks.

Yeah wow. Lots of negativity in here. It’s not deserved.
I’m taking a break for a while due to PVE class balance, but as a Warrior you should be able to stomp ANYTHING that comes your way. You’ll always have a place in a group, and most people lovvvvvvvvve DPSing for some reason, so you should like that.
I’m not sure why people are whining so much. GW2 needs some design polish and could definitely use more content… but it’s not a disaster at all. Leveling is fun, the world is gorgeous and fun to explore, and there are a lot of neat skills. WvW is pretty awesome — it’s everything Wintergrasp should have been — and SPVP is much better than WoW arenas.
If you’re giving it a 2/10 then I think it’s more personal opinion. That’s not an objective perspective.

Please don’t quote me to push your point of view.

Joining a guild is the best thing you can do for yourself, OP. Figure out your play style and look for a like minded guild. It’ll make the game a lot better.
Try to do your personal storyline. it is a sort of traditional quest. It is the green quest on top right of the screen. It will take you to different places / zones. Sometime you will need to grind a few levels to be able to continue the story, but as you come from WoW, i don’t see the level grinding a problem for you.
This should be your main goal.
The 2nd goal would be the daily achievements. They are easy to be done and when you get to know them, it will take you ~ 30 min.
You shouldn’t stress with the game progression. It will come to you as you play even if you wont see much difference.
If a zone is to hard to level in, go to lower level zones and you will have a better feeling about your character.
Selling thing on Trading post is one of the simple things seen in any MMO. Just open it with “O” and you are done.
There is no need to buy gears, just use the ones that drop from foes.
All the heart NPC become merchants after you complete the quest. They are good for cleaning out your inventory while in the world
You cant do a group event by yourself? There is no one around? Just ignore it and run further.
When you feel you are getting bored, either stop playing for that day, either switch the character and try a new style.
One goal you could have is to level multiple characters alternatively, mostly doing the same things, but this will only make you an expert in what you need to do.
Some events are hard to understand when there are more people around and until you figure out what to do the event is over.
Don’t play GW2 10h in a day fro the start, Try to play it as long as you feel interested even if that means only 30 min. In time, while playing other games, you will realize that GW2 is different then all of them
And one more thing. Use the internet to search for answers. Like GW1, GW2 is relying itself on Wiki pretty much. So, when you seem not to find something and there is no one around to answer for you, go to wiki and do a little research yourself.
GW2 is a mixture between a sandbox game and a quest driven game.
The sandbox part is the one that makes the boredom come for all the players used with quest driven games.

One day you will grow up and realize neither matters…
I love that in 99% of these threads is you need to find a guild .. I agree that it is important to find a group of liked minded individuals .. but that really doesn’t compensate for the lack of progression stale loot, grindy experience, boring game play, and elitist dungeon runs where only cookie cutter builds apply, weak content when it comes to group events and the constant to nerf aspects of the game Having a good guild is essential for any game but still doesn’t change the game itself, its like if you really enjoy who you work with but hate you job at the end of the day you still hate your job but you are glad you went because you were able to socialize with the people you like.

I guess it does have something to do with what you’ve said. See content really doesn’t get stale as fast when you’re playing with people you like. And if you’re in a like-minded guild, you’d join a guild that doesn’t require cookie cutter builds (my guild doesn’t). Weak content, of course, is just your opinion.
The problem is everything you’ve stated is your opinion of the game. Having a guild wouldn’t change weak content if the content is indeed weak. But since some people think the content is strong, a different opinion then having a guild is still a good thing to do.
I like the content. I think having a guild makes things more fun, even though I like the content. If you don’t like the content, find a game with content that you do like. In the last couple of months I’ve seen far more positive things said about stuff like SAB and the new F&F dungeon than negative. Far far more positive. Someone, therefore, must like the content.
ok so after a few days of playing I have to say I’m enjoying playing this game, it could be that I havent been playing WoW for awhile and I’m not so used to doing things a certain way so I’m having an easier time adapting than I was before. I havent joined any guilds yet, I’ve decided to just run solo for now plus sometimes guild chat gets distracting.
